The truth of the matter is; European countries have huge tax disadvantages on importing American cars in general. The US market cars don't do too many favors to themselves either when pricing those cars in the European markets. It isn't about what Europeans prefer, since the market was never allowed to properly set itself like it has in the USA traditionally. |
Periods? No bleeding on this end boss. I think you might have your import tax theory mixed up. Japan isn't part of Europe yet cars from the East are not over priced wether they're built here or there. The thing with American cars, a Mustang in the U.K. e.g. is that it has to be personally imported, which attracts import duty. Try to remember that European cars are very different from those in North America, needs are different, expectations are different.
You can buy a Corvette here, but from a Cadillac dealer (if you can find one), Chevrolet here is what used to be Daewoo (Daewho?). America might well be a good friend to Europe and thank goodness, otherwise we might all be speaking German but cars do a different job. The market speaks for itself, if you could sell thousands of cobalts here then you'd be able to buy a cobalt here..............
