I agree with you mendocino. I think chrome rims are cheesy and getting 22s is just plain ugly. they do it to impress people (women) and to make others jealous. Where as I have love for the cars themselves. To them Bentley is like a fashion statement. Kind of like wearing name expensive brand clothing. To me bentley is a great looking powerful luxury car (Arnage T). Although I can think of 100 cars that I would rather have in my garage.

Yes everything I saw in that video (except for a brief glimpse of a 360 and lambo) are not exactly drivers cars....I just dont see what the attraction of those navigators are (or simlar)...unless you got a big family to take camping or something...but then I would have a Range Rover for that...(I currently have some discos for such activitys)

i dont understand the bling bling shit either. i see dozens of SUVs with 20's and above everyday. now everyone is getting double dubs too. thats like 20 grand in rims, and it makes the car ride like shit. i have to find a pic of Master P's 360 painted in the Louis Vuitton pattern, its terrible. these guys have too much money. dont get me wrong, i like rap, just not the "i have a bentley, look at my money, im keepin it real and gangster in my solid gold house" bullshit

If you notice... it says or simlar....American SUVs are not very common in the UK and the only one I have ever seen and been in... in person is a Navigator...hence my comment on that as thats the only one I have experienced first hand....

Yep, I don't like their style either. On TV I saw a rapper who redid the interior of the car in some cow style (black and white stripes) way. So incredibly ugly. They just want car that scream out, I'm the toughest MTF in the neighberhoud. But the video started a whole discussion, so I'm glad I've posted it.

- Top Gear - Alfa 147 GTA (with JC) - ripped by HCO: certainly worth the download
- Extreme Machines - Ferrari 312PB: small piece of a JC video. Very cool but the quality is also very bad.
- JunketStuntClip_300.mov: stuntman driving around in a Mini Cooper
- 147.mov & 100high.avi: 2 vid's about fast RC cars, posted by Mendocino
- Turbo.fr - Porsche Carrera GT: some nice images and some info about the car.

A small remark, the Alfa 147 video is very good but it doesn't feature the whole review. Pitty because in the second part, JC is much more positive about the car. I won't say it's a good car, but you have to admit, it has charisma, lots of it!!!

The quality of that Ferrari-clip is indeed very bad. Why would anyone do such a bad job. You hardly notice it's a car. I only suspect that it's a very pretty one.

I would of course go for the Alfa 147 any time. As you said 1zippo1, loads more charisma than the others.

The Carrera GT-clip means drooling for three minutes. It doesn't always have to be about driving a car. A few minutes of nothing but close-ups of this car are very enjoyable also.

No, the jag review isn't that funny, only the tractor part. I posted a 911 C4 cabrio video a while back.. I almost got confused myself too!

The military vehicles clip is pretty boring. Basically what they say is, you have to consider the convoy as 1 single vehicle in some situations. If you have to pass them, you have to pass all of them at the same time.

Hahah... for american TV, probably. The timeslot costs too much, consider each WRC race is compressed to only 44min long with maybe 30min dedicated to the actual race. It's nice to see nicky grist and penny (from Driven) are hosting the wrc broadcast now :)

44min, that's not bad. On Walloon TV it's about the same. On Flemish TV it's much less. And we definitely don't have a host as sexy as Penny. :P

Just watched the Motoring Porsche 911 Turbo X50 review.

He said with the X50 package it's basically the same engine as the GT3, I think he means GT2 but anyway I still think this is a very impressive car. Some nice driving, but they could have found a more interesting reviewer. But still, surely worth watching!!!

The 550 spyder retro test was pretty nice too. That last race version of the 550 looks pretty different. The nose looks a bit like a Porsche Boxster. For such an old car, the car seems to handle very well, it allmost doesn't roll!

I've just watched the Ferrari Daytona test. Glad you posted that. That car is a ledgend and when you look at it you have to know why. Exceptionall styling and 350 hp in that time... But look at those dials they were vibrating all over the place when the car was standing still :lol:

the gt3 was a nice vid and, even for me an american, i felt that it was a bit dirty of them to mention the corvette. its a good car but not better than a gt3, maybe the vette is better as a daily driver and value for money but def not on the track.

the continetal gt vid was very nice but too short. the interior does have a vw look to it, i think that this car is good but the looks aren't true bentley, especially the vanquish rear part of the car.

I'm sorry but I can't quite follow what you mean. Is Holden the same company as Pontiac? Like Vauxhall & Opel are the same brand? Or what do you mean exactly?

No, Pontiac is no where close to Holden. If they were the same, pontiac would be selling alot more cars here. The astra (same as the opel/vauxhall) is probably 10x better than the sunfire :) That's probably one reason why GM has to rebadge the Monaro as the GTO to improve pontiac's image. Virtually all pontiac cars are FWD, even the top of the line bonneville with a V8.

AFAIK, HSV is the performance division for Holden... just like AMG for mercedes. So, how much hp is 300kw? I'm usually a metric person, but kw and Nm are just not part of my vocab ;)

Not really, it is one of my favorites you know... 8) But the zonda will allways have a special place in my hart :wink:

The real reason is that I try to change the url from my webspace because it's safter this way. There's less chance hackers will try to fuck it up again if I sometimes change the url. So it doesn't get spread to quickly. I had to many problems last time and one of the two webspace I used to have is still down... But I'm glad I can hand mine out to AlienDB7 because I enjoy those vids and it's a small favour in return for the effort everyone puts into this site!

I just watched the videos of the BMW M1 and the Aston Martin DB4. I enjoyed them both very much. I have always liked the M1 and seeing the Procar footage brought back memories. Very nice! The DB4 is also wonderful. Great looking car, more sporty than the DB5 and DB6. The sound of the straight six is always a pleasure.

hehe, thx :D The teacher likes cars so I know he would find it interesting. I probably don't have 20/20 but I must have a good grade (they don't tell you how much) because he said I was very good, he thanked me for the spectacle and for the rest of the lesson I didn't have to do the exercises like the others... he said after that great performance you deserve some rest :lol: So if that didn't go well...

But I regret the fact that I'm not able to post much on JW lately :-( I'm just allways busy it seems... The last 2 weeks I've only seen Top Gear, normally I watch 3 or 4 carshows in a week.

Actually, the video quality does matter quite a bit. Try to play a video on an old nvidia card, like the tnt2, and compare that to a new ATI card like a radeon 8500/9800. You'll see a huge difference in quality, especially when decoding mpeg1/2.

There seems to be quite a lot of interference and noise when using the built in tv tuner. I used to cap through the vcr so maybe that makes the difference in quality. Not sure whether I want to go back or not since I can now program all the weekly shows in the schedule and have them recorded automatically. Won't have to miss a show anymore, not to mention all the time saving :mrgreen:

Check out the Ferrari 550 Maranello Barchetta video in the vault (just uploaded, should be available soon), it's encoded slightly differently. Looking forward for more feedback.

Having visited the Dutch NedCar car assembly plant in Born back in 1992 and early in spring this year I can assure you that production of 'more interesting' cars follows more or less the same lines.
BTW it was very fascinating to see how NedCar used 1 production- & assembly line for the production of Mitsubishi's Carisma and Volvo's S40 and V40.

everything isn't fine now but the situation has certainly improved. I'm going out tomorrow night with that one girl I like ... as friends but at least I didn't lose that!! I started drinking at 19:00 on newyears eve and stopped at 7 in the morning. Got up the next day and by 12 I was allready drinking a bear, so I never went sober really and I kep on drinking till 2 hours past midnight... Today was better, she called, calmed me down and I have only drunk one bear so ...

Things are setteling down again... I haven't won her over and I'll never can but I'm more then gratefull that I have a friend who is this nice for me and who cares about me... even if all I can think about sometimes is being with her... getting in softy mode again :roll: that's the after alcohol effect I suppose :lol:

Just the two of us, as friends, so we can talk a bit. But damn she is so sweet for me ... what man wouldn't get moved by that! And believe me she's very nice to look at too :P No woman who wasn't a girlfriend of mine has ever gotten me so damn crazy :) But at least I didn't lose her with my drunk behaviour.

Zippo, love that toyota feature. Although they did cheated a bit by putting in roll cage and stuff, I'm really impressed by its durability. Too bad they don't make cars or trucks like that anymore. With all the sea water getting into the engine management computer, don't think it'll work anymore.

Great selection again, Alien. This will be the first review of the new s40 that I get to watch. From the pics I've seen so far, this must be one very nice car. I'd like to see Volvo make a t4 with 4wheel drive like the Audi. With this new model in the same price range as the 3series and a4 they owe it, just to gain some respect and credibility in the segment. :)

A friend of mine used to own the previous S40 and I was quite astonished by the quality of the chassis. It was one of the most comfortable and at the same time the car went through corners at an amazing speed for such a car. I've never experienced another car where both the performance & the comfort were so good at the same time

I know all about that. My dad had an S40 with sports suspension until it decided it would rather kill itself than part from us in the regular way. It cornered quite well. When you go beyond the limits it reacts with understeer only. That was a bummer, but it didn't reach its limits all too easily.

If you think the S40 was good, you would be completely blown away by the Mazda 6...its body control is waaaaay better than the S40, and its limits are far higher...it's even nicely adjustable on the throttle, even though it's front-drive.

I routinely take off-ramps with posted 25mph speeds at 65 to 70 without any tire squeal or anything in my 6.

AMS - TT V6 video? Do you mean the comparison test with the chrysler crossfire? If so, I think I still have that on CD somewhere.

Imre: what do you mean by sound problem? There's no audio in the video? It's in VCD format, so it shouldn't require any special codec.

I don't think he posted them all. I can't image I missed more then 5 and I've now got 50 AMS vids. Aliens list exists of 74 vids. But thx for all of those! You've enlarged my car video collection with a enourmous amount!! If it wasn't for you and jabba and some others I think my list would now be about 1/10th of what it is now :D
