Thanks alot man! At first I was only doing this since I was bored and I was like " Hey I need to get some GT4 Wallpapers and show it to the guys at Jabbas World. " And then later on I just had way to many so I was like I have a freewebs site I might as well post all my Images there. Anyways I really appreciate the feedback. This makes me want to make the site even more better! :D I am gonna be moving the menu to the right if I can figure out how and I also think I got my camera working so I gotta go take custom pics! :D

to anyone that has GT4 already... what are the perks of using your saved game from GT3 when starting GT4? I think i heard that you get more money when you start but I am not sure what is needed to be completed in GT3..

I already asked my girl to get me the game for valentines day ;) she pre-ordered it the other day.. i cant wait! all i need is my memory card to be mailed to me from home to school..

I think there's only a limited amount of points u can transfer to GT4 anyways...
I am not sure but I think it's 100,000.

You mean money? I am not sure about this. I heard people on GTP talk about being able to transfer it from GT3 to GT4 so you must be able to! Unless you gotta do some type of trick or something? :lol:

Checked the local game store today, still had my game reserved that i put 5 bucks on back in novemeber when i thought the game was coming out before xmas, owell the date is soon to be upon us!! Do most of you on this board us a steering wheel, or just the controller? Id have to say i dont mind using the controller and have gotten very good with it, but is it worth trying to buy the wheel?

If you can install it like it should, then yes, it is well worth. If, like me, you play on your sofa and you simply can't install it (or else your girlfriend / mom / wife would throw you out of the window) the proper way, or simply can't use it in the correct position, the controller is still the way to go.. I already had to throw away a steering wheel years ago because of that :bah:

I have the GT3 logitech steering wheel, it's great, but I still use the controller usually since I've gotten really use to it and I'm just too lazy to setup the wheel most of the time!

1. I don't think Zrfsk62 would bullshit the board intentionally...

2. It is feasible that the US and Euro versions of GT might have slightly different car lists than the China/Japan releases, hence the delay between the asian and rest-of-world launches of the product.

I seriously doubt that that's the actual "official" list of cars, the likelihood of Bugattis, Maseratis, the Alfa 33-2 Race car and Stradale, The DB2, 3S, 4GT, 5, 6, Virage, etc...etc...etc... actually appearing in the game is next to nil. I realize that many of the cars on this list are likely to be in the game as well though. My guess is that this is a "wishlist" for cars rather than a truly representative one for what's in the game.

Actually some dudes on another forum I went to spread the word about my site talked to me about EA not having liscense and such to Ferrari , Lamborghini, Porsche and so on but they couldnt be bothered to spend more time or someone else got the liscense. I personally think the guy who posted that was just stpid or that he got it off a site or something that was BSing big time.

Saloons? Hmm......not so sure on this one. I think I saw a pic of a S - class. Not sure at all on this one man. Sorry. If I find anything I will be sure to post it here.

Um..NO. I really wouldn't count on it. It's just going to be the game and the little manual that goes with it inside the cover of the game case. Just like every other game.

There may be some kind of package that you can buy that will include all of that with the game, but you can bet that you'll pay for it though.

For the regular normal price of the game, thats probaly all you'll get.

dual layer or single layer won't matter. think of a DVD. dual layer and single layers do you have to have a different player to play each one.

f1 car at nurburing is simplly too hard to control.... i played with no aids on, other then traction control... sometimes if u hit the curb. or something.. ur car will deifnitly spin out of coontrol for several secs. and there is no way to recover from it

The game is fun - but don't believe it is "the ultimate simulation" - it is close, real close - but not quite there.

For one thing, their stock setup is too soft (more like a C5 Coupe) and wallowy. Also, the option for the Active Handling do not represent the actual car modes available.

The car does behave close to reality on and off the throttle in the bends though.

I give it a strong 8/10 - for comparison I give PGR2 a 5/10.

p.s. Visually it was a little disappointing - all the uber-hires Photo-Mode images around the Net are setting peoples expectations too high - the wheels are a real visual disappointment - they appear weaker/flatter than GT3.

With 700 cars, did you really think they would go through and retool the ones that are returning?I don't think so. They had to cut corners somewhere and it was only a matter of time until we found out where.

Not everycar is giong to handle as wel as they do in real life. I'm sure the drivers of the LMP Mercede's that was in the video posted earlier in the thread by Toronto (i think) would point out alot of problems with the handling as well.

I should have the game tomorrow night, so we'll put RCs claims to the test :D

I love the Japanese attention to detail - just the same way they include particular models of the Skyline and Lancer.. so they include the first new generation Z06, the 2001 model (incorrectly listed as a 2000 model - again).

The extra 20hp and the revalved shocks are something you tune away at your first mod anyway.. ;)

I like how in arcade mode you can dial up and down the power to level the playing field.

Oh yeah - with the 900 degree wheel it is great fun. :)

The other thing.. you can buy a car from a second game, but you get it without mods, pay full price and the seller keeps the car and gets no money - makes it a totally pointless exercise - except in the case it's a car you haven't won yet or you already bought used.

AFter a few more hours, I have to say the game does not reflect 4 years of refinement - it is in fact way below what I would have hoped after all the time and money spent.

It is a fun game, but the GT franchise has had it's glory days... the future is bleak if GT4 is any indication.

Quality over quantity would have been preferable - the leap from GT2 to GT3 was 100 times better than the small shuffle from GT3 to GT4.

You can use your custom cars (in your garage) in Arcade mode in GT3....so I assume this is the same in GT4 :wink:

I usually drive GT series with TCS off all the time, but today I have been playing with my new steering and it is almost impossible to get a error free lap. It is abit too sensitive off center and the unlike real life, the steering return to the center wayyyy too slow.

After a few more hours, I have to say the game does not reflect 4 years of refinement - it is in fact way below what I would have hoped after all the time and money spent.

It is a fun game, but the GT franchise has had it's glory days... the future is bleak if GT4 is any indication.

Quality over quantity would have been preferable - the leap from GT2 to GT3 was 100 times better than the small shuffle from GT3 to GT4.


GT4 is looking like nothing more than an updated GT3 or what PD wanted GT3 to be in the first place. I pray GT5 on a new, more powerful system is more fully realized than this turned out to be. Still a fun car game, there is no doubt in that, but so much more should have been done with the time allotted.


You can use your custom cars (in your garage) in Arcade mode in GT3....so I assume this is the same in GT4 :wink:

You would certainly think that, right? Sadly, no. Any modification done to your car in GT mode, stay in GT mode.

I use arcade mode to test cars where possible before buying.

My current "beater" started out as a $14,000 '96 STi -about $60Grand later it's a 447hp nutcase that runs to 210mph on turbo motor, and will top 235mph with a 100hp shot of nitrous. :twisted:

The Caddy Cien is rather useless I must say. (first prize car I won)

The game is almost worth it just for the Nurburgring - the insane elevation changes, absurd high speeds and crazy drivers on Track Days are awesome.

The 900 degree wheel is making up for any shortfalls in the game - just so much fun not to run up against the turning stop when at full tilt.

I tried the photo mode for about 5 minutes and then lost interest. I have more fun with the replays.

All in all not a bad buy - but I gotta say again, not as good as 4 years would have you believe. :)

Well I got it last night! I didn't preorder so I was lucky to walk in and just pick it up. The girl told me I also missed 'the rush' - it sounds like RC got caught up in something like that!

Without repeating what RC's said about the game - it's better, the (Driving Force Pro) wheel is great, but it's not what you would hope from 4 years...however it is great fun and that's what it's all about. I'd still buy PS3/GT5 though, I don't think I've lost faith just yet!

I bought a Prelude but didnt change the suspension. Now I wouldnt want to spoil the surprise but let me say the physics are realistic, Preludes are a bit bouncy stock and this one certainly was :lol:

Also, the M Coupe is a bit of a monster even stock. It's with this car on the 'ring I noticed how much faster the game has got.

As for sounds, some are better some are still crap. The viper on the license test is awesome soundwise. The burble is very bassy and if you are using GT on a home theater setup youre in for a treat.

One more thing...

I am right there with you, GT mode IS priority. The reason not being able to race self-modded versions of the car outside of GT mode is a let down is because myself and the close friends of mine that are also diehard GT fans like to tweak every aspect of our cars and then race them against one another. It would be a test to see who could get that perfect set-up to make it around a circuit with the shortest time. With the inclusion of the Ring that would have made it that much better. Ah well, such is life I guess.

For me, I spend 3 hours yesterday nite at the ring with an M3....man I tell ya, it's very hard to remember all the corners. I never regret buying an extra PS2 just for the game.

I like the fact that you can transfer some of your money and license progress from GT3.

The AI is still as predictable as ever following the same hard-coded line no matter what, too bad. I am also a little dissapointed that, though pretty much already known, we did not get garage cars in 2-player mode. The B-Spec mode is more of a gimmick than anything else and the load times are just a tad too long. With all that said, I still love the game.

Good observations - not being able to use custom cars outside of GT Mode is really frustrating. One figures that they would got the hint by now.

The other thing.. you can buy a car from a second game, but you get it without mods, pay full price and the seller keeps the car and gets no money - makes it a totally pointless exercise - except in the case it's a car you haven't won yet or you already bought used.

I agree that they havent moved the game on a lot. To me, GT2 - GT3 was a dissapointment as the lack of cars compared to the previous generations.

I consider these HUGE flaws.

GT4 is billed as a simulator... and with over 100 tracks how can you expect me to only have 3 custom setusp to deal all 100 tracks.

The "share with others" is a minor... the inability to save custom settings is HUGE. This leaves GT4 so far of a simulaiton - it is no only mildly better than PGR2.

TT you are correct - I had all golds in the imported licenses - and did not get any bonus cars.

I am amazed that the beta testers - and the other people playing the released versions have not commented on these major issues.

I think this drops GT4 down a bit. Less time spent on developing the Photo Mode, and more time on the support for people who enjoy driving and tuning would have been nice.

Got my copy today. Didnt even think about the 'ALL GOLDS' issue with the licenses... the 100k was a nice boost. I love this car selection, however I dont really understand the used car lots. There is a fox mustang in there rite? Once the used cars are off the lot, do they come back sometime? Cuz I dont have the money to buy some of the ones i want, and then they dissapear! Can I still do the A and B licenses to get golds? Played for like 2 hours today, so far ive bought a SRT-4 (modded to 380hp), an EVO-III (modded to 390hp), a Buick GNX (modded to 350hp), and won a 67? nissan and another import from the 60s... i dont really remember wut they're called. Then i won that wierd ass Toyota open wheeled concept car. Wierd shit. Is it like GT3 where it randomly chooses a car? Or is there just one car per event? Guess i gotta get the strategy guide... unless someone knows of one on the net. Next things to buy: MR car (prolly MR2) and a truck (iunno if i'll go HEMI Ram or Lightning)

I definitely agree with that... I used to buy a car in GT3, try it out, and if I didn't like it, I'd just reload the game. Now I'm stuck with it. :(

one interesting thing i've found...If your oil light comes on and you don't change the oil before the next race, your car won't go anywhere, it will barely even rev.

I have 2 games going now - one legit and honest... (except for the 100,000 credit and license transfer from GT3) - the other has 1,000,000,000,000 credits, all gold on all licenses and 10001 days total.

This has unlocked most every track and provided a lot of cars.. :) I then bought about another 100 cars.

This is the "fun" game. My current fave car, is the SLR Macca fully modded - will pull 200mph on straight at midfield, and cut cut up the corners like an F1 car.

lol, well i hate to say it, but i really didn't start playing GT3 until x-mas when i got my PS2. I think i only have about 5% of it done. (however my RX-7 Infinni[?] is dialed in for a 4:41 @ Complex String, which is only 10 Sec. behind my co-workers who have been playing it since it's release date :P )

I gotta say, i'm having a little trouble figuring out how to drive around the understeer in my 300ZX right now :? not thrilled about that, but i'm kicking ass with it in the Nissan Z badge cup :D

you guys are mad dumb. you CAN use ur garage cars in arcade and 2 player. When you go to choose your car, there are all tghe manufacturers, well above, there u should see a 1 and a 2. gues what they mean. mem card 1, mem card 2. just load ur cars form ur mem card. DUHHHHHH

Well - thanks for the tip.. it seems you are only half as dumb as you sound.. ;) - it seems that the 1 and 2 only appear in 2P mode.. not single race.

But split screen sucks, so we are going to rty a LAN link up - piuty GT4 doesnt support iLink anymore - that rocked.

In GT3 you sould hook up 3 PS2's and you could enter a 3-screen mode, with the 3 TV's/Displays being the front, left and right views.

A real Arcade like treat... really cool to see and play.

Not yet - but it should, the documentation specifically says it does.

Prize Car Tidbit

If you have completed a series, and been awarded a car, you can go back and re-race the series - and you have an opportunity to erase the current records. If you do this, you are able to rewin the same car again.

The implication is now that you can win the same car over and over again, and sell it for quick cash.

More complaints
In short... Sony and PD fucked everyone over. They kept us waiting for 3 years, and delayed and delayed - and FAILED to finish the fucking game.

Things like "special cars not being able to be used competitively. This means because the Caterham 7 is a "high poly count" car, it can only run alone.

They didn't complete the LAN game parts again - just like GT3, they sort change folks that want to race real people in the LAN games.

Limits to cars, laps tracks etc.

No doubt the game is aimed at luring newcomers into spend their money - GT2 and 3 loyalists will notice and realize it is nothing more than a GT3.5 - with major downgrades in many areas to support the eye candy that is needed to sell shit these days.

This game is going to simply be for a "quick drive" around the ring or a 270mph blast down the Mulsanne in the Chaperal - but I won't be "playing it to get 100%".

Too many of the "special prize cars" are not usable - and the AI is a pain in the ass still - you get tagged with a 5 second penalty - even if the AI driver rear ends you into the wall - with no consequence for them.

Visually and "first impression" GT4 seems like a 9 or 10/10... but after the initial glow fades, it is just another arcade game.. with weaknesses that should not be around 3 years after the previous version.

Shame on Sony and PD.

Then again they just made a gazillion dollars, so they must be doing [i]something[/]i right.. :P

I think i figured out what was happening when my car wasn't going anywhere at the start of the races...CLUTCH SLIP! If you launch at too high RPM or to quickly from a low RPM, you'll fry the clutch. How's that for realism :shock:

Same here, I left it in the most aggressive mode and when i came back to the tv my car was in the sand, and lost the lead! I was worried that I HAD to clear both specs to complete. Whew am i glad that i don't.

I think that using b-spec kinda defeats the point of the game. The only time I might consider using it is for the 24 hr races.

I totally know what you mean, I have done it many many times. At first, I give it a good at full speed, but then I keep making small mistakes..and as u know license don't let you drive off the track...and here we go again. So after quite a few tries, I start to slow down, u know, just to finish doing the licenses for crisis sake. For the IA Merc 190E one, I always follow the lead car too close and end up rear ending it on tight chianes ....


Oh one quick question, for me to get 1080i or 480p, do I absolutely need the component video, or just the s-video would do? (I need to buy the cable)

Ford fans - be sure to keep an eye on the used car lot - the 2000 Cobra R comes up for sale every now and again.

The '96 C4 GS Corvette also crops up in the used car lot after a while.
