Default Getting a new SUV, help please!

well my mom is looking to get a new car, prices here are a bit diferent, she is willing to pay 30k for the new car....

we where looking to get a new santa fe, 2.7 v6 wich is around 30k here...

a few days ago i went to a nissan dealer and found a INFINITI FX45 2003 with 42,xxx miles, at 30k with a broken tailight (400usd$) and left side Xenon bulb fried, so replacing both bulbs would be around (200usd$-250usd$) so i made an offer 28k. no inifiniti dealers here, just nissan, only offered under special order (the FX45 is around 65k here) is it a good buy, do you guys think it has too many miles?

thanx for the help!!!

I wouldnt worry about the miles, depending on how long you are planning on keeping it. We drive our cars for well over 100,000 miles before we even think about replacing them. I would be worried about build quality/reliability if the headlight/taillight are out after only 3 years. I dont know anything about Xenon bulbs and how long they are supposed to last so maybe this is completely normal and I am talking out of my ass. My mom is looking at the Nissan Muranos right now (basically the same thing) they seem pretty cool, so I imagine the FX is even better.

Get a Hyundai Terracan: http://www.motorworld.net/forum/showthread.php?t=45769.

What sort of SUV is she looking for, a soft-roader or something a bit tougher? The Santa Fe would be a decent choice, or maybe a RAV 4 (what does RAV stand for?).

I would go for the FX45 since it has the V8 and sounds soo nice. the Hyundai is just boring in comparison. the HID bulbs are really hit or miss they can last a loong time or just a few years, it also depends on how often they were on and if the person constantlyturned them on and off ie flashing. the taillight I assume you mean is cracked? What I woulddo is offer them 30K out the door with the lights fixed. I would have figured it was still under warranty though.

I'd go for the Infiniti, that car looks just awesome and Nissan is very reliable, so don't worry about the mileage

i actually test drove it twice, its amazing really, quick really quick. its basically the second fastest SUV sold here. right after the cayenne turbo.

she is not looking an off road car or anything, if it was my choice i would look for a car for her, but she doenst like to sit soo low. so this is the perfect car for her, (and for me ) she is just worried about the miles thats it.

another thing that worries me is that althoug the suspencion is perfect, a bit to harsh but nice, i dont know if it due to the 20 inch wheels, but it feels a bit loose, like if it pulls at high accel to a side or ir needs and aligment and probably the tires are a bit flat, what could this be?

i fell in love with tha car, its soooooo responsive, you guys need o try it out to know what i mean...

in my second test drive 2 cars almost crashed while looking the car (very rare here), that worries me a bit and the power also, cuz its for my mom.

the thing is that we need power, because we live up in a mountain, with good roads but very inclined.

If you need the power I'd definitely go for the Infiniti. And it's not your concern if people crash because of your car Exotics wouldn't be made if it would be! And about the suspension, large rims often cause problems for the comfort of the car, but nothing to worry about though. That problem with acceleration, don't know what that means Did you check the tires before driving?
