I don't think the GT can perform like this...

At the top gear test track it was soaking wet for nsx-r. So it wasn't the same conditions for both. And btw, it was not exige that we were suppose to compare the nsx-r with. I think if the nurburgring and the hockenheim aren't enough, then there isn't a good place where you can test these cars. Think about the times and it was EXIGE doing the laps. Elise wouldn't stand a chance.

and finally id go for the elise. the nsx is overrated and the elise is a superb car. as for the laptimes you all have posted they not that realiable. top gear is crap. their track is garbage and the driver is worse. not to mention the horrible weather conditions they deal with. i think that the elise loses on tracks with long straights. the toyota engine jsut doesnt have the high top speed. so if its nurburgring then the nsx wins but if its like angelsy then id go for the elise.
I'd hardly call Ben Collins and Perry McCarthy bad drivers....

Wow there are some interesting arguments here. Sorry I wasn't clear on track choice, perhaps I should have picked Nurburgring. I thought about Exige versus NSX-R and I thought the NSX-R would be outclassed. I tried to keep each car in same class category.

About the Ford GT. It is a Quad-Turbo pushing somewhere around 550 HP I think. Would you call it a Ford GT TTTT or Ford GT Titty for short? I'm not sure about its HP numbers. But I thought Saleen TT would beat the GT, hehe I just wanted to see what other people thought. 0X

The Ford GT is supercharged bud. And the Saleen at question is not the twin turbo version. Either way, why are people bringing up other cars? Stick with the 8 cars mentioned and answer the question without saying that the more powerful versions of the cars would win, no crap they would win but thats not the question. I used the top gear track as an example because it's a fairly well rounded track and doesn't have any top end speed straights, and since the NSX-R had a much faster time than the Elise and also that the NSX-R's lap was a wet lap, i think it's fair to say that the NSX would win that contest.

You guys have all seen the video of the race-tuned Exige trying to catch a non-Z06 C5 coupe driven around Nurburgrung?

Right?

Once the track opens up, people do not realize just how important hp and topend are - the Exige tries valiantly to catch and pass the Vette, and gets close in some places, but the moment the Vette (with only 350hp) hits the gas, it is bye-bye Exige.

This means the NSX-R would most likely leave the Elise/Exige far behind..

Razor sharp handling only counts if you are shaving..

1. M3 CSL, because its a handling and also a performance car.
2. Ford GT, maybe after i've seen j'clarkson review the car..I belive this car is fast
3. Evolution VIII MR, it got better handling.
4. Honda NSX type R, this car is great on corners, but Elise also great on corners...but the NSX got more HP and balance power to weight ratio, I choose the NSX type R...

After playing Project Gotham Racing 2, the nsx dominates the elise according to the game and my amazing driving.

1. BMW M3 CSL - This car is lighter and probably can take the turns better then the RS6

2. Saleen S7 - Twin Turbos baby! The Ford GT would be on its arse most of the way i think

3. STi - Not really sure why...this is a toss up for me.

4. Elise/NSX - this definitely depends on if the track is more straight or more curvy. If it is more curvy then Elise, if its straight , then the NSX
