HAHA yes 10x is already professional field.. 6x is already ok and also usefull, having lot of MP, this way you don't need to zoom that much, you can just crop the pic afterward

Possibly yes, especially if you often attend tracks were you can't be too close to the action
Anyway now I don't think you can't buy a good camera anymore wich hasn't more than 3x optical zoom
