^^^ This is difficult to explain, because I don't know the word for it in English. In Dutch it is kleppendeksel, literally translated it's valve cover. On the original Testa Rossa (two separate words) from the sixties that part of the engine was painted red and gave the car it's name. I don't know whether the Testarossa (one word here) of '86 has them painted red though.

Testa-Rossa in Italian mean red head.

the reason for this name is that the original TR, the late 50's 250 TR had a red cylinder head cover, hence the name.

It means "RedHead" because of the red valve covers in the engine. Not sure if its the valve covers that are red though.

Does Testarossa mean red lady. Or some thing like that. If so wouldn’t it make more sense to paint it red?
I read somewhere that Testarossa meant "Red Headed", not sure though...and yes I agree, red is the best color for a Testarossa.

I hope he spent some money on brake upgrades. Testarossa's had so-so brakes. I remember that car in Car and Driver back in the day.
