Default 900hp Testarossa with some jungle juice

A very very interesting Testarossa.

http://www.exoticcarforums.com/forum...ead.php?t=8622

"I am the owner of the black 86 targa TR that many people saw last weekend in Indy...After reading the posts about the car I will try to set the record straight. The car is 1986 TR US car...this car was on the cover of car and driver sept 86...I purchased the car from the owner in chicago when the car had a few thousand miles on it....The car was sent to R. Strayman in california for a targa conversion as many of you may be aware they are the premier body conversion co in calif....the car was sent about 4 yrs ago to Bob Norwood in dallas where he converted the motor to a four valve twin turbo motor with computer controled NOS to spin up the turbos thus eliminating turbo lag...The NOS can be turned off by a switch in the center console...I never use it as the car is so fast without it and there is vertualy no turbo lag...The car has aprox 25000 org miles on it and the redone Norwood motor has approx 2000 miles.. The car is missing a few rubber pieces around the corners (uses 308 moldings)...The car is extremely fast you wont find a ferrari that will run away from it yet the car is extremely civilized and easy to drive although I never drive any of my cars for more than short putts...Last year I sold my F 40 to the pres of club in kansas city...many of you may have seen the article on the car in forenza mag this past spring...Anyhow before I sold the F40 we raced it against the TR several times...At the line the F40 ran away for the first 150 yards then the TR ran away from it...lots of fun...All in all the TR is a great car The targa conversion and the norwood conversion make it a fun car to drive and no one is going to pull up next to you and blow your doors in...I have a factory mod twin turbo porshe (96 and very fast and special ) and the TR runs away from that car also...The car is for sale $84000... It needs to be owned by someone who is going to drive and enjoy the car ...this car likes to run not sit in the garage...this car really has over 900 horsepower norwood says just under 1000 hp he dinoed the car after he built the engine...Im sure he prob has records on the car also the big tires and wheels help keep it on the ground...If anyone has interest contact me at 317 7522000..."

Nice car, black is excellent for Testarossas, but what the hell is NOS doing on a Ferrari? It's just not right...

They should had that ferarri in FNF... Then that orange supra would have looked so slow to the ferarri. But Ferarri are already perfect without NOS.Why would you want to do it.

I guess when your trying to pull F40s you need some Jungle Juice

You couldnt have the dreaded "turbo lag"... like the good old EB110.

it's a computerised nos system. the computer automatically let the nos to the engine when the turbo isn't spooled, according to a boost gauge, so you get power even when the turbos aren't spooled yet.

Does it shut down the feeding of NOS to engine when the turbo's are spooled then? Cause otherwise I don't see how it helps to reduce turbo lag.

Probably yes. If the engine can work idependantly without NOS or the Turbos(if they are not intergrated in some way ie/can be removed) then the car maybe be worth 2 or so grand more then a stock Testarossa.

Nitrous on a Ferrari is just wrong. Enzo would turn in his grave
And why make a dragster out of a Ferrari? Enzo would turn in his grave, I tell you!

i personally would not pay more for chopped up ferrari even if the workshop that did it was reputable. the only way i pay more is if it was officially released by ferrari. because i'm sure ferrari would have done crash testing or at least test it without a roof. me being a crap driver with many horses behind me, i want to be sure i'm safe.

Does Testarossa mean red lady. Or some thing like that. If so wouldn’t it make more sense to paint it red?
