It will be a very sad day when he retires in 2007

This is what some of hte team bosses had to say about his dominance:
Flavio Briatore, Renault: “It’s great. People want heroes. And they like the thrill of the fact that even a super hero can be beaten. Personally, for me? It makes me want to cry.”
Ron Dennis, Mclaren: “Obviously Michael and Ferrari are doing a good job and they should not be beaten or handicapped by any regulations. Viewers love to see winners. That’s motor racing.”
David Richards, BAR: “Michael is just so unbelievably good and he has proven that he is fighting like hell whether it’s the win or only a position. People are attracted by such a spirit. And probably it’s also a sort of hedonic delight to be there when he is beaten.”
Eddie Jordan, Jordan: “I think that Michael’s dominance by and large is not helping the sport. He is a very reclusive person – that’s his right – but to be a super hero in the public’s eye you need to have a story. At the moment the person on the street thinks that Michael is just too good – almost robotic.”
Paul Stoddart, Minardi: “Michael will very likely also win the next two world championships – conservatively estimated because he said that he will probably retire in 2006. We have seen such dominance by Michael in the last five years that my guess is that everybody who is fed up with this fact has already turned off the TV. That there has not been a real dramatic drop in viewer numbers lets me guess that people feel very comfortable with watching a super hero.”

I'd like to see him continue, but i don't see his domination continuing. He's had his easiest season this season by far and hasn't exactly had to work as hard as all his other championship wins to win it. If he's going to win next season it's gonna be a lot tougher than this year

I don't think he should retire at all simply because he is winning. I think he should keep going to continue to prove himself against the next generation of challengers, and besides, if he did retire then there will always be the argument that he was "unbeatable"

Then again he may just hold a press conference to say that the rumours aren't true and that he'll keep going for another season. Personally I think he will continue as he won this championship so "easily" and he has every reason to think he can do it again next year.

I think he should stick around for atleast 1 more season. Hopefully he can take another title. Without a doubt the smart thing to do would be to leave while on top

It's official.
Schumi will NOT retire. 9.01.2004 At Autodromo Nazionale Monza , Schumacher announced that he will continue driving f1 cars next year. He says that he will "go on as long as he as the racing instinct." More on www.Ferrari.it and http://www.itv-f1.com/News_Article.aspx?PO_ID=31016

No way should he retire!
For the simple fact that I don't think that we have seen the best of his talents.
The rest of the teams need to lift their game, stopping MS winning another title has to be pretty good motivation.
Must be frustrating for Kimi, Juan, Fernando, Jenson(my 2004 best of the rest, non ferrari) to be able to race him one race(or segment of) then drive a dog/blow up the next.
Come on guys, I want to see how good MS is under real pressure!
Kudos to him and Ferrari though; success like they have had does not come by mistake.

I think he porved one more time that he's the king today So why should he retire ??
He is THE target, the man to beat for every driver. Schumacher suffered from the absence of Senna because he never had someone equal to him and everybody think that it would have been much harder to win all his tittles with Senna alive. But if he retires, this will be the same for the other drivers, everybody would wonder what would happen if MS had been there ??

What's all this mess about? Why the hell should he retire? Just to let other drivers/teams win so that F1 sponsors could make more money by drawing more audience? I believe no real hardcore F1 enthusiast would like that to happen; The ones wanting him to retire are either desperate of their favorie team/driver win or want it jsut for economical reasons!
