Its a fairly high-budget event. Lots of GT3 porsches etc.. Its professionally filmed every year, and the race film is shown on TV and sold on DVD and VHS. Its the only tarmac rally like it in Australia, and I dont know of anything anywhere else in the world that comes close to it... (no Gumball is junk). Remember that for Targa Tasmania normal roads are closed off for this racing. Its flat out speed. No holds barred. No speed cameras etc. Its got full government support. More or less like the Monaco GP - except Monaco is a much larger scaled event with F1 and all
