Wow - talk about folks being computer ill-informed...

notepad.exe is just an executable, that can be deleted, infect, renamed or otherwise obliterated like any other file. ..

Sure there is a copy in the dllcache folder - but it is not an internal routine to windows...

Now a simple way to verify if it gone is to search for it....

I would love to hear how this one plays out - the blind leading the blind...

hey hey now, something like notepad is not important to me so i dont need to know every little thing about it. so calm down dude.
The point being then that something as simple as the notepad executable would be the FIRST thing you might learn about - after all, if you don't know the basics.. you don't know jack...

hm i have the same problem, but i already have notepad.exe install back in the window directory, but the real problem is that i can not associate notepad to open anymore files. it would just open *.txt not that big of a problem really, the actual program work probably, it just when i want to edit a non txt file, i have to right click all the time.

Ok - you problem is easily solved... search windows help for file type association and click the first itmne on the list.

You need to learn how to do it yourself...

Sachm... do you have the executable? notepad.exe - if so, what error message do you get? If not, then you shouldn't have deleted it..

lol don't mock my computing skill, that doesn't help me at all, i did the exact same thing, right click, properties and shit but the thing is when i try to choose a new program, and i select notepad.exe, from window, it just doesn't add it to the list.

It's a virus, serious. Your antivirus probably deleted it, your Adobe reader is ok?
Restore windows.

Hummm... I suspect you only deleted the shortcut to it.

Do like this....

1- Press Start

2- Press RUN

3- And then write there Notepad

And press enter...

Probably it will do the job.
