In Poland people are so desperate that there are more and more cases of petrol being stolen. I bet most drivers aren't all that furious about loosing a few gallons of petrol but by the fact that the thieves have to pierce the fuel tank, which apparently costs 150USD+.

Maybe they are gonna use them in a local burnout-contest?

That's just a false sense of security. It might help against random thieves, but more professional ones just take a set of keys with them.

well that's quite a few set of keys, if the car has dealer ones they have their own unique keys and quite a few different ones.

Yeah, and a lot of the time "professional" theives aren't stealing wheels off of a 13 year old civic..
Sorry gobz, definitely a horrible sight to see when you wake up.
Glad everything is workin out with the new tires and rims though.. Although you won't be totally fine until you find those bastards..

Yeah i found a set on ebay for $30, so i thought it was a bargain.Well things got worse. I had a wet vac in the back seat (i really didn't think i would be hit twice) so somebody thought it was theirs to have too, and somehow stole and in the process pushed the car closer to the ground so the car is putting pressure on the front brake rotors. Oh and they stole my rear license plate. For all i know the interior will probably be gone by the time i get up tommorrow.
I was just going to take the jack out my parents van and use that to lift the car. I'm getting really sick of the car, i'll probably sell it and buy an old E-class (5th Gear sold me Shit happens though, nothing that can't be fixed with time and patience.

Bastards! Like you said its your daily runabout and its more the inconvience than anything. I've had my car broken into in the past also and its the inconvience of say having the wheels stolen or windows broken (on a raining day) etc.
The area I live in is a really good area, but a neighbour was doing renovations on his house and had a big industrial bin in his driveway for all the old bricks/wood etc and so left his car out the front of his house for the night for the first time in 4 years, and he woke up to his car on blocks and the 18" alloys gone.
So they knew his car was there and waited for an opportunity to arise!
I swear if I got hold of these scum :2gunfire: !

Well since the wheels and tires and worth more than $500 the insurance said it's not worth the claim. So it's all out of the pocket expenses, and i'm not planning on painting the civic, it's not worth the money, but the RX-7 will be silverstone.

That's gawful. I always thought things like that only happens in movies.
Times like these makes me wish we lived in a Muslim world. They know how to deal with thieves by cutting their hands.

Dont even bother getting money from the insurance. Sure you get money from them for the stolen things but they jack up your insurance rates like 100 - 300 bucks a month for 2 - 3 years which is a pain in the ass and not worth taking the claim. Just inform the cops at the very least for the hell of it.
