IF you could design a car
Now I am sure that this has been posted many times but I just have to ask: If you could design a car, what company would it be for and what type would it be (coupe, hatchback etc.) and what specs it would have. If you have done some drawings it would be great to see them.

Roadster
Multilink rear.
sla fron suspension.
light weight carbon fiber monocoque.
c5-r alluminum engine
engine would be mid mounted and linked to a six speed manual gear box located fore of the transaxle for best possible weight distribution.

Uhm.. I would design a car for BMW and I'd like to design the new M3, not electric gizmo, not even eletric windows, nothing at all. A car back to the roots, or at least to 80s standard as for equipment. So it won't need a fucking V8 to compete with other cars or just to be as fast as the previous model.. A straight six like the E46 one will be enough to go even faster than the present model, but well, the ideal car will be basically like the E30, just with a modern design.. so even a 4 pot would be enough!
Definitely I had the rush to bigger engines hell! Sadly international safety rules are more and more strick and all the weight cars gained theses years is just to make them safer for us, but still, I'd like to design a car that goes back to the roots a pure drivers car

Sorry dani_d_mas but you think that the F50 was the most beautiful???? I personally think it is the ugliest spercar.TT I love your idea of a "back to the roots" M3, it certainly is what the automotive world needs right now: just pure, simple, primitive driving joy. the whole "man and machine"experience.

how dare you? F50 was beautiful especially compared to Enzo. Enzo is cool, but no way beautiful.
ooh back to the topic!
I would design an uncompromising GT or Supercar coupe even if it is full of flaws. Perfection is something God(s) only can achieve.

I would make a new Retro muscle car... Probably a new Hemi Cuda, sort of like the Ford GT with classic styling but with upgraded everything... and of course bring back the 426 Hemi for it, but make an EFI version thats more modern.

I agree with TT (You seem to be describing the original e30 M3).
I would want to design for BMW.
Like Gordon Murray I also have a thing about weight.
The E30 BMW redesigned and 250kg lighter would be a good start. But I have one requirement. It must be a 6 cylinder. I just love those. Even it is a smaller one. The original 2.5 - 6 from the e30 325i was a honey to start with.
I would prefer to design a coupe based on the 70's CSl BMW. With modern materials, brakes and suspension it could be really good. But then again, you can buy a Porsche...

I would make a car that looks amost like the ferrari 360 stradale only smaller.same motor but it handles like the noble m12 but with ferrari's precision and have no un needed options.also it should weigh as much as the Lotus GT1.
That would be awsome!

If I could design a car, it would be for KIA. I mean, their cars are so ugly even I can draw something better when I'm drunk!

A car for myself.. limited edition ..
Mid engine
V10 - 10000 redline
Middle driving position
Carbon and aluminum chasis
Double wishbone f/r
Exterior look sorta like a F1, for example Enzo
Unique doors opening like Koneigsegg
Crazy rear end like the Zonda
The size of the car should be same size of the Mclaren F1
Gold Heat Reflector
Crazy interior like the Zonda
Glass Top
... too much to list...

I would design something like the first lotus elise ...
small 2 seats car, very light, not too much electronics, with a 2 liter turbo ... and with a price like the first elise +- 25.000 € to make our streets beautiful ...
