I currently have a cable modem and it was moving at great speeds for a while but now it is incredibly slow...I'm looking at upgrading to a faster connection and I wanted to see if anyone would have some input. I am currently paying $49.99 a month and comcast is the service provider.

If Road Runner is available in your town you might want to check it out. I got a special where I'm only paying $29.95 a month for the first 6 months and $44.95 thereafter. I'm from Texas too so they might have this deal in your town as well. I've had it for around two months and I've only experienced slow speeds twice and even then it was back to normal in an hour or two. I can get a little bit faster than 350kb/s download speeds and I'm loving it so far.

I use RCN, never had slowdown with them so far. Then again, I got 5 PCs networked to the router. But I usually end up hogging the bandwith.
