DAMN THIS CAR IS HOT!!!!....everytime I see it I like it even more...I don't know what it is that it has....but it's awesome....altough I wouldn't see myself paying that much for a Ford...but I would have a HARD time choosing between a Ferrari and this...sadly I don't think I'll ever make that desition...

i do like it, but wot i dont like is that ford isnt innovating, same designs on the gt n mustang, theyre could i cant deny that, but when theyve tried to innovate they had some nasty results (lets say the last mustang) n also the thunderfird even that its a retro is ugly also

production is expected to be 1000-1500 units per year through 2007, at which point, i am speculating as a serious possibility, the Shelby Cobra wont be a concept anymore.
a lot of you can expect to be able to see a Ford GT in a town near you, as a large number of dealerships will be recieving at least one to sell... see it before its delivered!!!

I don't like Fords but I like the GT. Can't wait till they let the Stig lose in it so we can see how the production model stacks up against the competition.

Being the non-Ford guy that I am (FORD = F*cker Only Runs Downhill, etc.), I just can't help and smile about the GT. It just screams 'BEAST', and shockingly enough, seems to act like a beast, too. And yes, I can't wait to see what Top Gear and 5th Gear have to say about the production model. It'd be neat to see how the car stacks up against the European monster cars. Not going to assume it'll be a Ferrari killer, but unlike most American 'sports cars' of recent years, it's going to have a better, better chance....

If you do a bit of reading (motortrend, Autocar, Car and Driver etc...) you'll find that they've already done head to head comparisons of the GT with the Ferrari 360 and 360 Stradale, and with the 911GT3 as well. The GT is by far the fastest of the three, runs near the cheap end of the spectrum (granted, it's not as cheap as the GT3, but still...) and was more comfortable to drive quickly on the road if not quite as adjustable as the other two on the track. I believe it was Autocar that took a 360 and the GT to Laguna Seca...the GT was something on the order of 5 seconds per lap faster with the same driver.

there is no comparison on the track once you get similar handling capabilities as the other supercar contenders, and add THAT MUCH MORE TORQUE then you are guarneteed better lap times, except stupid nascar courses that are nothing but high speed left turns even then, the GT has taller gear ratios, and therefore, (since it has enough power/torque) will still win on the nascar circuit.
also, the numbers i posted above are for the production version are quite a bit higher then the pre-engineering muels (15 were made if i remember right) the "real" version will not produce the massive understeer that jeremy clarckston whitnessed when he test drove it in my home town ( i have seriously driven every road that was displayed in the test ) i love this car... looking to the this summer to feel what it's like
