Passion for cars
How did your passion for cars started, because of parents, tv, friends, JW,
no reason at all, etc...
My passion for cars started when I was 7 years old(I think), when I was
watching tv, I was changing channels when suddenly I caught a glimpse of
a weird looking car, an F1 car, I was fascinated by the strange looks, the colors, the
noise it made and the ppl involved. From then on I started getting
interested in my fathers car, in those days a toyota van.
Well I think the rest seems obvious of course.
What about you guys, how did it started?

i've always had a significant interest in cars, so i would probably say my dad is responsable for that. after that i would say tv and movies like gone in 60 seconds. i can't really pinpoint an exact time when it started b /c it was a gradual obbsession.

Impossible to tell, I always thought it was in the blood... since a little child I collected pics, magazines, watched cars for hours while sat near a road or by my window... I always loved and needed to drool on cars... as simple as that

IMO in most cases it starts to soon to be able to explain why... it's rare that somebody wake up one day at 20 or 30 and become a car nut... most of us were like that since their childhood

the members at JW.

My influence came from my older brother. He is 11 years older than I so he had his license while I was still a little kid. When I was about 10 he started taking me to the drag races and to hang out with his friends while they worked on their cars. I basically just grew into it being around gearheads all the time.

I got started through my father as he had all types of cars when I was young, Corvettes and Porsches, I just loved going for rides with him and then I would steer while he worked the pedals and then I started taking the cars out when I was about 11 years old in parking lots early Sunday mornings and driving the 1969 Porsche 911E (sold) by myself with him in the passenger seat and then I started to deliver tofu over the passes to the hotels on the other side and then my story became that known as Intial D, LOL. Everything is true until the tofu part.

When I was 4 years old my dad gave me some Corgi Rockets cars - not the goofy "fantasy" ones.. but the "realistic" ones - like in his colleciton.
I still rememebr the first 2 cars:
A Ford Capri Rally car and the Chevrolet Astro show car..
I have been obsessed with all things automotive ever since.
Wow - I even found pics of the models online!
They were the "Tune up" editions. You used the gold key to snap the chassis off, so you could replace the wheel/axle sets if they got bent.

Gran Turismo 2 did me in. When I first got it, I would be playing that game until 5 in the morning, go to bed, get up 2 hours later and go to school. That was... 8th grade maybe?

I always loved cars -- When I was around 10, my grandpa's friend showed me his 1984 Ferrari GTO and then gave me a model car ( also GTO) which he had in his office. I still have the model car in my room ( although the model is a little beat up now), and that got me started with Italian cars. Then when I got my drivers licence i became obsessed with cars.

Well, I can remember how at the age of 3 I used to sit in the garden and play with my police-Jaguar-XJR toy. But I became a real fanatic when I saw my first F40 in a Ferrari saloon. Then there was the London motorshow, I saw my first DB7, F50, TVR etc. And a few Ferraris and a black Diablo I spotted on the streets of this city. With every sighting the interest just built inside me.

I don't really know, i didn't really have interest in cars when a young boy, just liked to see Ferraris but not much, i think it starts at 11 when buying my grand father gave me some mags, then i bought a supercar mag including a Testarossa test and i saw a Testa the day after  , i was really shocked by this car, i think my passion comes from all these things united
