Default I drive, been in and want...

I own a Silver 1980 Porsche 911SC. I took a while to buy it but it has been wonderful. Taking it around a track is awesome. I drive it every day and it has almost 240k km on the clock. It is easy to maintain too. Why more people do not own one I can not understand!

The highlights of cars I have driven. I drove a friend's 1982 Ferrari 308 GTS QV for a few months. I really miss it. Awesome sound and fit me like a glove. That was before the Porsche. They are stablemates but the Ferrari cost twice as much! Will get one eventually! 1970 Ferrari Daytona. That is the most awesome thing yet. Worth about $200k and really powerful. The owner likes to powerslide it too. His other car is a 1966 275GTB/4 (Roughly $500k). Hopefully going to Italy in 2 months for a reunion and to drive over the Alps. Can't wait! Surprisingly a 1972 Lamborghini Espada. Weird but deceptively fast.

I want a 1970's BMW 3.0CSl. I can get one now, but I have grown to love the Porsche. It will have to wait. Of course, who doesn't want a Maclaren F1? Also a Lamborghini Miura SV. I have seen one (an S for sale curernlty here too) but couldn't drive. The battery was flat and then it got sold.
8( . SUCKS really.

EDIT:
New shots for the registry and speed register.
Lots of shots at http://e.co.za/Cars
Newer Porsche photos under http://e.co.za/Cars/MyPorsche/index.html
Video of me doing 20-170kph under My Car, 0-100.

For the registry:

For the top speed:

Added pics. They are a bit grotty. I will upload better ones soon! The golf is not mine. 8)

Oh sorry about the photo thing. I will post as soon as possible. Do not seem to have one on this machine. The Ferrari 275 is being restored currently for the Italy thing. The 308 has been sold but I can still get a photo. 8). I'd have to scan the shots of the Espada and Miura. Do not have shots of the Daytona. But those are gettable too. Maybe this sunday at the usual GP meeting. 8)

Allrighty. Added the image links in the first post. I will get better shots and create a webpage to display photos of all the cars mentioned.

I have owned it for just over a year and took it from a mileage of 212k to 239k currently. My car is very well looked after except for several stone chips from using it so much.
almost completely original. No rust.
Full leather interior (Blue), Airconditioning. (Rare on a European left hand drive I think). The mags are off a later Carrera (Not my doing! Looking for 16" fuchs rims. The famous black centered rims.

I have taken it to a top speed of 237kph on clock, downhill. That should be close to true speed as my rear tires ar a bit bigger, so the speedometer should be less optimistic.

The gearbox is a bit notchy. That 2nd gear! Golden Rule: Do not select first while moving. Do not select second while not moving. 8)

Thanks for the pics dude. As I told you already, the car looks mint! Sure looks way "younger" than the mileage suggested!

8) Thanks. It does feel great to drive it. Makes getting up in the morning ahwole lot easier - even after a year.

The tyres are 225/15 at the rear (should be 205/15 or 225/16 with the fuchs rims.)

The numberplate is Gauteng, South Africa.

stupid repost. Hate Microsoft IE. But the firewalll loves it. 8)

I will try put up shots of the interior and front tomorrow.

By the way I have taken it around a race track a few times too.
The grip is phenomenal. The car is 24 years old and will outperform many new cars with ease!

LOL - what a difference 10 years made.. last time I was in Jo'burg, in 1995 we still had the reflective yellow Vaalie plates...

A nice survivor car - in excellent condition.

:2 Thumbs Up:

Okay I found 2 more shots on some cd's. Now where did I put the others? <ponders>.

First one: Waiting in line for scrutineering at Kayalami Porsche day.
The burgundy one behind mine belongs to a friend. That one is perfect! 1982 model. 100k km and stored for the last few years.

Second one: Ferrari day a Kayalami. Friends pointed out that I am the only person that would photograph my own Porsche on a Ferrai day! :)

I, too love that it is aircooled. It is amazing how effective it is. And I spent way too much money before replacing seized BMW waterpumps!

I have finally found more shots. I will just give the link for the interior shot and a nice frontal shot.

I will write a webpage to show the shots as I have some great photos of all kinds of rare cars I have seen.

Added a little video clip of me accelerating up to 170kph.

I will keep it up depending on bandwidth usage.
The vid is 10MB in size as I did not compress the sound...
I hate it when you can't hear!

Go to:
http://e.co.za/Cars/mycar.html

"Save target as" on the "0-100 kph" link in the cars stats.
Enjoy. 8)
