ULTIMATE 1/4 Mile car!
ok it has to be street legal (in the sence that is can't be missing half the floor plan) it cannot have nitros, and it cannot be stupid and unreasonable ie: have 8 turbo's!!!
so what would you guys have as the ultimate 1/4 mile car and what would you do to it!!
(i wonder if someone will post my fav)

How about a HQ with a blown 454?
Thrown in a stiff slippery diff, mild tub job (nothing non-streetable), a decent auto with the appropriate stall converter, and you've got yourself a car with enough weight to push the rubber to the road, as well as a donk with plenty of bottom end torque to get things moving nicely.
I seem to recal Street Machine Magazine build a 1/4 mile project car several years ago, and it was a HQ (or something like that). Everyone was wondering about the whole power to weight issue until the bastard ran a 10sec quarter (or something like that).

how about a elise with 2 turbos... i dont think 2 turbos on it is unreasonable.. and the car doesnt weight anything so pumping out 300 or so hp with no weight would make it preatty quick..... of couse ill also be a conftreble car to live with, not just for racing

I quite like the idea of an R33 running a couple a HKS GT51's!!!!!!!!! As the exvitermini one was, but that was completely road illegal!!
There is a blue R33 or 34 on a high octane video i saw that is in newzealand i think, that thing was fuckin quick and was road legal!!!!
