Damn ........... Z4 sales gonna drop sooo much.
I think it's quite logical to go for the Toyota engine, at least it is bullet prove and had a much higher redline than the rover engine

Join the club. I wanted one from the first time I seen pictures of it. It was love at first sight. And I was not dissapointed when I saw its lap times.

Is that the same engine used in the Celica GT-S? They mention both a 1.8 and 2.0 VVTL-i engine in the article.. either way, they are one of the nicest sounding inline 4's out now

Right, sure, keep on dreaming. I don't think that the Lotus will steal any significant share from the Z4, especially if they are not going to sell more than 2200 a year. Not to mention that the Lotus cant take any golf bags... And we all know where wealthy Americans (well not every American) go to on the weekends, with their "fun car", to the golf club

I can see Americans taking this car to the track, but I really believe that one of the problems with the Lotus, is the size. Don't forget in teh states every second car is either a huge ass van or a pickup truck, now imagine being in a small car like Lotus. Most people will feel uncomfortable in it.

Still it is a great car, and I hope it does well.

As you can read more than once in those pages, it's basically because for the US you need to pass several tests, the harder of wich is the one where the car has to do a whole lot of km w/o major problems.. and Toyota means realibility

Instead of looking at the pics read the words too

i've got that engine in my corolla. its fun when you're in lift point but thats at 6000rpm. below that power kinda sucks. but i guess its alright since this weighs like 860kg compared to 1250kg. its designed by yamaha and you really get that bike feel. i've got the same transmission yet mine does not feel slick.
