The side looks like a Merc at quick glance. Nice rims though.

Do you mean the S-Class? I think this looks a bit lower/sleeker than the S.

This is a development model for ABT...I believe what they're trying to do is develop this into a RS8 with a 600 horsepower V12. Although that's just rumor.
This is the second generation of the A8s. The first (97 - 03) were much more square.
I'm not sure what ABT means...apparently they're a German Audi tuner (much like Brabus for Mercedes-Benz and Hamann for BMW)...however, they don't have a site.

so this ... abt.... is using the new a8 body... labelled it abt.... and they threw in a new engine? whats the rs8 have to do with it?

I believe the RS8 lies in the fact that Audi doesn't have an official RS8, and ABT is just working on something that could be a RS8. It's what I read on some forum elsewhere. I'm not sure if they threw the engine yet, but that's the plan I guess.

Well, RS4/RS6 are official Audis. Basically, they're tuned by Audi and factory-produced by Audi. There isn't a RS8 like that. I believe Audi does have a second-generation S8 coming out next year though.

theres an rs4? or is it just known as s4.... and if so.... why is s6 known as Rs6?  / how did ABT obtain the new s8 chassis?
