Ot depends on where you do them. Public or private property.
A donut on private property and the police can't touch you unless the owner asks them too.
On a public street they can because it is wreckless driving.

Yeah same here its a pretty big ticket if I remember right (~$100 US in NY and PA). But canada is a lot less uptight about a lot of things so who knows.

It really depends on the cops. Most cops in Los Angeles will definitely bust you for wreckless driving, but in other areas they might be more lenient and just tell you to leave.
-It also depends where you're doing the donuts

A couple of years ago there was a new type of infringement introduced here (Canberra, AUS) called "Sustained loss of traction". Apparently 2 seconds of wheel-spin in any situation is enough to get you a ticket...

i've tried to do that at the university parking lot, the security will ask you to leave, that's all that they could do (or maybe write down your license plate number at most)

In michigan it's a hard-to-avoid 150 dollar ticket for reckless driving. It also earns you 6 points on your license and makes your insurance go through the roof (esp. if you're under 25)
