Between those 2, I'd say the Z.

I would say the RX-8 because it's lighter & looks much better than the 350Z in my opinion but I never trust the reliability of the rotary engine so between the 350Z & the RX-8, definitely the 350Z. If Mazda one day would put a regular piston engine or can prove that their rotary engine is just as reliable as the normal piston engine then I would buy a Mazda's RX sport cars. Winning a 24 hours LeMans isn't convincing enough for me to buy a Mazda sports car with a rotary engine because I'm sure Mazda has their best engineers & technicians there just for the 24 hours LeMans.

First of all: Welcome to the world of Jabba Michael :fadein:
Back to your question. Suppose in the end it will be a matter of personal taste.
Take both cars for a extensive testdrive on a selection of different roads and roadconditions you're familiar with and decide than.
One of the decisive factors for me is whether or not 4 adults, each approx 6 feet tal, can sit comfortably during a 3hrs ride.
So, all other things being equal, it would be Mazda's RX8 for me

First of all, welcome aboard

Second and MOST important: take your time!!! To buy a car right away w/o thinking about it for some time is completely wrong and risky (although both cars are very good)

Try them both, try to talk with owners, visit websites with dedicated message boards and so on... if you'll choose to far you will risk to much

That said, I'd take the RX-8 hands down

It all depends if people have to take rides in your car... four seaters or two seaters...

if you rarely drive more than one passenger... I will go for the 350z because of the torque.... very useable for everyday driving

Now...I disagree with most of these guys, you may well be able to find a year-old 330Ci or possibly (though unlikely) an E36 or E46 M3, or possibly even a Porsche Boxster. You'd probably find those more fun to drive, better built (most likely) and certainly faster than either the 350Z or the RX8. Out of the two you mentioned I'd take the 350Z for driving pleasure thanks to its superior torque, but for a mix of practicality and fun I'd go for the RX8.

I would choose the RX-8 coz' it is more practical

Well since almost everyone is into the 350z, lets ask TT why he thinks the RX8 is the better car.

A couple of reasons:

- it's simply cool
- it's doors setup is to die for
- when ppl will ask you how many cylinder you have under the hood, you can say "zero"
- it's globally different than your usual coupé, I don't care if the max hp and torque are placed above 45'000 rpm

The RX-8 is a very pretty car. It is light, handles good and goes really fast, if you get that rev counter pretty high up. It is also a 4 seater, so it is a more practical car. If you want a car just for having fun, then the 350Z would be better. But either one of them are great, so no worries mate

Well as probably many of you guys already watched on Top Gear, the Z, RX-8, and BMW M3 all had the EXACT same time on the track lap! Down to the second. So they are all the same where it counts. Personally the M3 is the only one of the three I would bother to drive home. But I would take a G35 coupe over all of them!

If you're interested more in comfort, then Z. If youl like going sideways, RX-8. The rest are just personal preferences (looks, sound ...)
