Today. I ran to see Iron Man the move and it was a good movie. This guy Tony Stark has a really nice audi R8 sportcar and Roll royce Phanotm. I also today ran to an Audi Car Audi Dealership. I wanted to sit inside the Audi R8. Too bad thought someone purchased this Audi R8 at a cost of $160.000 canadian Dollars. They don't have another Audi R8 for the show room. The saleperson says it will take 2 years to order this sportcar in.

Kirkham Motorsports provided two aluminum bodied 427 replicas for the movie (sans drivetrain) on short notice. A 427 roller starts at $40,000. Body prep from a filed finish and paint probably added $15,000 each.
(A FF fiberglass body will crack / shatter. Aluminum was needed to crumple.)

OLD crap, if you were a teenager when those cars came out I would understand why people get excited but if you are born after the 70s, you have no prior experience of the good old days with these cars. Stop looking backward at old tech, look towards the future and admire the new stuff like the R8 and Saleen.

I disagree entirely. those old cars represent driving in its purest form. just an engine a clutch and some wheels, when your only traction control was nimble feet. sure they would get killed in any type of contest against a newer car. but thats not the point. these cars are the beginning. if i hit the lottery there is a spot in my garage for these old timers.
