Speed limits
I´m Spanish and here in this country speed limint on roads is 120 km/h. Here everybody say that this is not enough and want more, about 140-150km/h. And I ask myself if in other countries you have more or less speed limits on your roads. What´s your opinion about this?

120 km/h on the highway with some 5% of tolerancy if I remember well
100 km/h on semi-highway (single lane)
80 km/h outside towns where the road is clear
60 km/h between towns and cities or on dangerous bits
50 km/h in towns

Well, here in Brazil most of highways have 100 or 120 of speed limit. I thinks it´s few for me, but, for the safe of all, it´s good. I like to drive fast, yeah, i still don´t have my car, but my dad leaves me to drive in the highways every time we travel, and, when we are just me and him on the car, i can trap 170...180 Km/h easy, because the highways are so good, good asphalt and plane. Like a race track. There are many radars and if you really want to go fast, be care with them.
Many people drive fast off course, but i think that to drive on a race track it would be better and more exiting. So, it´s for this reason i pretend to make a racing school this year. Driving on the track is so much more exiting and fast than on the sreets. And there are no radars to bother me, off course.

The maximum speed limit law in California is 65 unless otherwise posted. Lots of people think that if you keep up with flow of traffic you wont get a ticket, thats not the case, you will.

Yeah, it's 100km/h in Toronto, but where are the cops? I drive whatever speed I want, and I've only been caught twice. And the second one was a warning, for 129 in an 80!

In estonia we have 90km/h but in summer it is 100-110km/h when the road is good to raise the limit. It should be 150km/h.

Well in Poland the maximum speed limit is 130km an hour on highways. The road conditions in Poland are absolutely pathetic, coz we are a rather poor country compared to westrn Europe. The maximum speed applies on highways, unfortunately there are currently no more than 200km 2 laned roads of this type. We have however dual carrageways, but they are also in a bad state.
The funny thing is that in, for example, Germany there is basucally no speed limit pn highways and there is still a much lower number of car accidents than in my country.

80-100 km/h for highways
50 km/h for city
30 km/h for school zone
the speed limit for highways should be raised for sure
but then ppl will start driving 10% faster than the speed limit (which is pointless to revised the current speed limit)

In Illinois the fasted speed limit posted is 75mph down south in farm country. Up north near Chicago it doesn't go past 65, and 45 in urban areas and 35 in suburbs. The average would be around 55 on highways though.

That's because the highways are highly maintained and never in less than perfect
condition. And rules like drinking and driving, eating while driving, and using
a cell phone are strictly enforced. And Germans tend to be safer drivers and keep
better care of there cars so they don't have malfunctions that can be deadly at
high speeds. Plus German automobiles are designed to take high speeds.
The Autobahn is believe it or not actually the safest highway in the world.
