if you thought the LA car crushings were shocking . . .
check this out. One Canadian province has declared the right to seize any car that they believe has been modified for street racing.

This is quite a bit more extreme than the occassional crushings they do in LA. All of the 6 cars crushed in Socal had stolen engines or transmissions. It'll be interesting to see how this Canadian thing plays out. They do have more than their fair share of ricers though.

We don't need to wait until that car hits the road fully loaded,” he said, adding that modified cars are as dangerous as explosives, capable of causing catastrophic damage.

Our hobby is under attack. First street racers, next fast cars in general.

I think if they just take away ugly ricers that would be entirely sufficient. But really, given Canada's love of human rights, this is surely a violation of its own laws.

yea, i have mixed feelings. The legislation itself is absolutely terrible. If it is only used to take annoying little ricey cars of the street, I really wouldn't mind though. Yea, that's a double standard, but those cars are just that terrible.
