Schumi to race again
Sorry to mislead you
Planet F1:
Lewis Hamilton could face-off against Michael Schumacher for the first time ever if he agrees to take part in this year's Race of Champions.
Schumacher, who retired from F1 at the end of last season, has already agreed to compete in the 2007 RoC, which will take place at the Wembley Stadium on December 16.
The competition includes the world's best motorsport competitors from F1, MotoGP, world rallying, touring cars and other series. David Coulthard and Jenson Button are two other F1 drivers who have signed up for this year's challenge.
However, Hamilton, who has been approached, has yet to say yes, although RoC founder Fredrik Johnsson believes the opportunity to compete against Schumacher may be too great for the McLaren rookie to pass up on.
"I've spoken to Lewis and his father Anthony several times this year, including twice after the Monaco Grand Prix," Johnsson said.
"Lewis has expressed a keen interest to take part, although at the moment McLaren are keen for him to concentrate on Formula One.
"We fully understand that, but he really wants to do it, and we hope he is able to participate.
"It would be a unique occasion - the only occasion to see him go up against Michael Schumacher. In the next couple of months we should have an answer."

On whether Schumacher will be returning to F1, his manager said that it's definitely not going to happen.

It would be interesting to see, just not as interesting as having Schumi go on the current Ferrari and get his ass handed over by the rookie.

What cars do they race in the "Race of Champions"? Hope they use the same hardware, or else it would almost be pointless
But either way, would be great to see the New vs. the Old.

Last year they used the RoC buggy, 911 GT3, V8 Vantage, Xsara WRC and Megane Trophy. Mattias Ekström was the winner.

The old Canary RoC events were great. A great stage and great cars like the group B monsters and different WRC cars.

Hmm, interesting, although I was never particularly fond of this Race of Champions concept. A bit superficial, but then I am a traditionalist. Still, a good fight if it's on.
