Well, any F1 car, even Minardi or Jordan, is fast. 900hp combinated with a 600Kg car is awesome. So, Ferrari guessed they´re car were the best. So they´ve put it on an airport to drag race agains an Eurofighter, from Italy Air Force. Well, nobody know who was the fastest, and, to confuse the sittuation, it was raining on the day, December 11 of 2003.

Well, raining would decrease dragstrip times, but even with rain both were toooooo fast!!! I think that there´s no road car in the world that can beat a F1 car of today. The Eurofighter was so fast too, but untill the 900 meter pass he was few ahead the Ferrari.

Just see these numbers and stay surprised:

from 0 - 600 meters:
Ferrari F2003GA :9.4 secs EuroFighter: 9.6 secs

from 0 - 900 meters:
Ferrari F2003GA :13.2 secs EuroFighter: 13.0 secs

from 0 - 1200 meters:
Ferrari F2003GA :16.7 secs EuroFighter: 14.2 secs

Fast!!!

erm i believe it has a topspeed of 369 kph, and it would've done MUCH better against the jet fighter on a dry road, because in a car the wheels are being powered to get forward, so they can spin if theres too much power on the wheels.
since a jet fighter is powered by a jet engine and not through wheels, its wheels wont spin, and it can do its job almost just as well in the rain as on a dry road(except landing, that'll probably be much more difficult)

Yeah i agree with you ...i believe F2003GA would beat the Eurofighter on the 600 and 900 m passes. It would increase at least 1 second on a dry track.

Imagine if the f2003GA were on slicks instead of the groved tires (on dry road). it can go even faster.

I think Ferrari can adjust the car's wing (front and back) to give it more straight line speed, but it won't do that on actual races because they need the downforce to corner. So it's hard to know exactly how fast is the car because there's so many things you can adjust on that car depend on the race situation.

They could have used smaller wings. Indycars do have smaller wings in oval specs than they have in "normal" circuit specs. This will get more straight line speed.

yeah, but from 0 to 100 mph in about 3.8 or 4 seconds...

Imagine to go 1000 meters in less than 14 seconds...

Yeah....even on Gran Turismo 3 is IMPOSSIBLE to go 900 meters in 13.2 seconds. Even with the Escudo, you can´t go faster than the F2003GA, and don´t remember, in the day it raced agains the Eurofighter was rainning. So, at least 1 second faster than the 13.2 seconds. In the house of 12" in the 900 meters pass.

i beleive their top speeds are dependant on each track, differnt gear ratios for optimal performance for each track

hmm... got some real information.... get ur ass wiped after u see the below fgiures.....

F2003GA- 0-60mph UNDER 3sec,
0-100mph UNDER 3.4sec!!
the reason the difference is so small when acclerating over 40(from 60 to 100) mph is because of the wieght and streamline which comes into play and plays a big role...standard production cars are nothing compared , the maclaren f1 can eat dust if they raced drag or on a track....

I bet the Ferrari, or the Williams, or even a McLaren (all formula 1 cars) could come close to 400+km/h. It all depends on wing settings, gear ratios, and how much straightaway they have. If they were ever to go for a top speed run on a very long straightaway, they could close up most of the sidepods, and all that sorta stuff.

What's the point of comparing a 600kg 900hp present day Formula 1 car to a 10 year old 1100ish kg 627hp road car? I guess if your just putting the pace of a modern day F1 car into perspective then it's fine. But otherwise it's like saying "my McLaren F1 will stomp your Honda Civic. "
