Default Long Beach Grand Prix '07 (pics...finally)

Long Beach Grand Prix has to be one of the biggest motorsport events in Southern California. Hundreds of thousands come every year to see what racecars do best, going fast.

Day - 1

There's no race today, only qualifying for some race series such as ALMS. But that didn't stop thousands from coming. The venue was jam packed with people.

ALMS Qualifying
1. Bryan Herta, Dario Franchitti, Acura/ARX-01a (P2)
2. Ryan Briscoe, Sascha Maassen, Porsche RS Spyder (P2)
3. Romain Dumas, Timo Bernhard, Porsche RS Spyder (P2)
4. Allan McNish, Rinaldo Capello, Audi AG/R10/TDI (P1)
5. David Brabham, Stefan Johansson, Duncan Dayton, Acura/ARX-01a (P2)
6. Marco Werner, Emanuele Pirro, Audi AG/R10/TDI (P1)
7. Luis Diaz, Adrian Fernandez, Lola/B06-43/Acura (P2)
8. Butch Leitzinger, Andy Wallace, Porsche RS Spyder (P2)
9. Guy Smith, Chris Dyson, Porsche RS Spyder (P2)
10. Michael Lewis, Chris McMurry, Lola/EX257 AER (P1)
11. Olivier Beretta, Oliver Gavin, Corvette C6.R (GT1)
12. Clint Field, Richard Berry, Jon Field, Creation/CA06H/Judd (P1)
13. Johnny O`Connell, Jan Magnussen, Corvette C6.R (GT1)

15. Darren Law, Patrick Long, Porsche 911 GT3 RSR (GT2)

LBGP "Teaser" Album on Facebook

I'd put more pictures up, but I'm too tired. I have to wake up at 4am tomorrow. So for now, this is it. I'll put up better pictures when the weekend is over.

Tomorrow, it's

-31st Annual Toyota Pro/Celebrity Race (interesting, but unnecessary, Grand Marshal: Hugh Hefner)
-EZ Lube Team Drift Challenge (also unnecessary)
-American Le Mans Series Race (YEAHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!! WHOOOOOO!!!)
-Performance by Taking Back Sunday (if you like that stuff...)

Missed AMLM this year at Sebring, life has been hectic lately. Expect pics from me next year (just like the 2006 pics).

I was golden to go, but something came up LAST minute. Perhaps next year?

So. I've been off JW for weeks now. And I completely forgot to host pics for the Long Beach Grand Prix for a while. Sorry for being so lazy. I really wanted to show you guys some pictures.

I'm using facebook, so the quality's iffy. If anyone wants to see a high res version of the pics, tell me which ones to host separately.

The link will open the facebook albums

Day 2 - 1

Day 2 - 2

Oh man. I got to meet so many famous drivers. Alan McNish, Ron Fellows, Mika Salo... Some of the best drivers in the world right in my back yard (so to speak). All we need is F1 and WRC to move down here in SoCal and I won't have to go anywhere. 8)

And I picked up a very nice souvenir as well. The front bumper of the Autohaus #6 Competition Viper. It's in the albums somewhere.
