erm....i was like that too when i was 16........then all your friends get in accidents, and perhaps yourself (hopefully not). you'll learn fast that its just not worth it. TRUST ME. just not worth it. if u wanna go racing take it to the track.

i drive on avg 60 kph on normal streets an 90-100 on the highway. i'm not goona say what i used to do

don't feel that way, you drive slow compared when i had your age when my average speed was 120km/hr, and of course i had some car accidents (but not by going fast, only by talking and grabbin a girls leg)

now i drive the same speeds you do now, and it really feels great when u race a car, but lets not forget we drive normal cars, no stripped down w/a roll cage

take care

Depends on the speed limit. But I generally go only about 5mph over the posted limit. A cop won't bother with you if your going just 5 mph over. The ticket would not cost enough and he would just waste his time. In a school zone I will drive like a 80 year old man with a hat. My friend got a ticket going 8mph over in a school zone and it cost him 500 bucks.

It really depends on where I'm driving and why I'm driving. If i'm just driving to get somewhere, I tend to stick around the speed limit, maybe 10-20 over. If I'm out to drive for fun, I do the same until I get to the road I'm going to and then haul ass. There are a couple of straights where the Integra hits 120 mph.

Zr2man99: I fucking hate Georgia traffic cops. They're a bunch of uneducated, worthless pieces of human filth with nothing better to do than harass motorists. None of them (or their families, for that matter) deserves to live. I was talking to a friend of mine who is a cop, and he said that it takes a special kind of asshole to be a traffic cop. The rest of the police force (the ones who do something useful, like catch criminals) hates them. :x

I've got a nice info center in my CheeseWedge and it has an average speed display option. The figure as shown is always somewhere around the 50 km/h figure :fadein:

Here in Mexico the top speed limit is 110 km/h (about 70 mph) in most Federal Highways, in some Highways located north of the country (maxipistas) is up tp 130 km/h (about 80 mph).

Having said that, I usually drive a lot faster if I'm alone and the conditions of the road and weather allow me to do so (I normally do around 15 minutes between toll booths in the Mexico-Puebla Highway -that's 53 kms of an ample 4 lane road with some 18 kms of long, open curves- and I've been also known to drive a friend's Corvette a little bit over 250 km/h).

Unfortunatedly, and even though I drive way too fast for mexican standards, it's good to have in mind that even if you have a wonderful car and have skills worth of a F1 pilot, most of the drivers out there on the road ARE NOT professional pilots and and they surely DON'T have neither the skills or the awareness on how to properly control a vehicle at high speeds... SO, no matter where you are or how you drive, ALWAYS BE EXTRA CAREFUL!, as you cannot control all the things that may cause an accident, specially other drivers.

P.s. Wish we had some autobanhen or some kind of highways like those!

Here in South Dakota, you're pretty okay with cops as long as you're within 5 MPH of the speed limit.
The speed limits in the city vary from 30-40mph depending on the street, so put my speed at around 33-45.

On the interstate the speed limit is 65MPH when you're around the major cities/towns (major meaning 140,000 people for SD's largest, Sioux Falls, where I'm from), but most of the way across the state it's 75MPH, so I'm usually at around 79 when i'm coming to and from college.

35-40 km/h for school zone (30 km/h speed limit, of course have to look out for police cars)
60 km/h for city (50km/h speed limit)
100-110 km/h for highway (speed limit at 90km/h)

Shouldn't this be in Car Chat or something?

Anyway, I usually obey the speed limits. I've never had a ticket and I never want one.

I usually respect speed limits. I think that having a slow car helps, you listen well when you make speed
I don't support people who drive downtown quickly.
