 Impressive auction for an impressive car. I read that Bill Cosby had also a similar car but sold it after delivery because it was scary to drive ...

Thats true. If you ever get the chance, look for a comedy recording done by Bill Cosby called "200 MPH" which is about him meeting Shelby and getting that car. Very funny performance!

I thought there were 3 made total and not 2 as they said on TV at the Barret-Jackson auction. I thought George Harrah had one built as well

I think only 2... Cosby sold his, which was involved in an accident where the driver died; but the car was able to be restored... perhaps this is what youa re thinking of?

http://www.barrett-jackson.com/carli...LotNumber=1301

As history shows, CSX 3015 is one of two Super Snake Cobras built. The other being CSX 3303 built for Bill Cosby. CSX 3303 was a 1967 427 street car retained by Shelby American as a PR car and then made into a Super Snake for Bill Cosby. Cosby's record album titled '200 MPH' attests to the fact of why he only drove it once before returning it to Shelby American. Shelby American sold it to S and C Motors in San Francisco, who then sold it to their customer, Tony Maxey. Maxey destroyed himself and CSX 3303 by driving off of a cliff and into the Pacific Ocean. Sadly, Brian Angliss only opted to revive CSX 3303 leaving Mr. Maxey the only one still dead! This copy of CSX 3303 exists in the U.K. today and probably will be offered at an auction. It has absolutely no collector value.
I saved and uploaded some of the pics because their site is going really slow.

The guy that bought it bought the Bennevile Special for $2.7 million and the Futurliner last year for $4 million. He has a HUGE collection of cars that includes an Enzo, a Ford GT TT, many many classic collectable cars and many more supercars from today. On the Life on the Block show on Speed you get a really quick glance at this huge warehouse full or cars nose to tail side by side. That guy must be worth a ton of money!

No, maybe im just losing my mind. Its been a while since I heard "200 MPH" but I couldve sworn Cosby mentions Harrah in it and that he got one also

Damn that's a whole lot of money! But then again, that's a whole lot of history that comes with a supercool car!

You could buy a few nice houses with that kind of money! Nice car, though, and obviously something thought it was worth it.
