Car & Driver S6 vs M5 (manual) vs E63 AMG

C&D dislike the manual a lot and gave the m5 last place mostly cause of the manual.
Here are C&D numbers for M5 with SMG. M5 SMG is faster than the manual version.
from C&D
M5 SMG
0-60 in 4.2 sec
0-100 in 9.4 sec
0-150 in 20.7 sec
1/4mile 12.5@118
M5 Manual
0-60 in 4.7 sec
0-100 in 10.3 sec
0-150 in 23.4 sec
1/4mile 13.0@114

wow, that really sucks about the DSG, it seems like it would be much better if they could turn it completely off, and BMW just strengthen a few of the weaker parts as to not trash the car. That is honestly, the only real reason the the new M5 isnt god to me, the SMG.
Anyway, thanks for the scans as my issue of C&D hasnt yet arrived.

with SMG you can turn it off completly but not with manual. SMG is the only way to go and you will appreciate it more you try it. No manual M5 for me.

997tt manual is not as much slower. Looks like it is mostly software fault and should be updateable.
Thanks for the scans, made look for cheap cars in US Ebay.. Dollar is really so cheap, that buying overseas is really an option.

I'd take the AMG. As it's a saloon made for easy driving, the automatic would provide the most comfortable and chillest drive. Just set it and forget it.
