GTHD=Canceled, Next stop Gran Turismo 5!
Helloooooooo JW members. Remember me? lol Been busy and I lurk around sometimes when I get a chance but dont post. Anyways great news!!!
GTHD is going to be a FREE download THIS DECEMBER 24 2006!!!! 10 cars and 1 track with like 2 layouts or something like that. All of the 10 cars are gonna be the WIP GT5 car models!!! So no more Beefed up GT4 cars or graphics!
Kaz Yamuchi and PD are canceling it inorder to focus more on GT5. This is very great news. So hopefully we will see GT5 earlier than we once thought....or not considering how long GT4 took hehe.
*EDIT*
Link added incase someone thinks I am lying lol

good to know ! hope they pull it good this time, cause with the rumor of MGS4 coming out on the 360, the reasons of buying a ps3 are getting slimmer... though I might have one now...

TNT ^^^
The base model starts at 500. (The Console starts at 500 USD NOT THE GAME! )
Anyways I think it might be worth it. But GT6 will be alot better lol.
I know that in an interview Kaz said there WILL be DAMAGE and there will be a LIVERY EDITOR or some shit like that. So I guess custom paint? Also there will be some other good shit too....its just a matter of time. I mean once they release GTHD we will be getting more info hopefully.

Whoooooooooooo! That is good news. I was estimated that the full version of GTHD would've cost $400 or something anyways.

No. I was talking about the fact that there were limited amount of cars and tracks planned for GTHD and additional cars and stuff had to be purchased online. Many estimated the total cost would've reached hundreds of dollars.
The mode will feature 30 cars to start with, a mixture of vintage classics and cutting-edge racers, and there'll be two courses to test them out on (one North American, the other based on the Swiss-German Mount Eiger track). However, Sony's online PlayStation Store will be selling additional downloads periodically: another 30 cars will be made available, plus more tracks, one of which will be a course taking in our very own London Town.
Classic mode, on the other hand, is entirely download-based. "The GT HD download service will be like iTunes: I call it GT Tunes" says Yamauchi. Eventually there'll be around 50 tracks and 750 cars to choose from for Classic mode, with vehicles going on sale on a weekly basis. Some of them will even be limited edition, but the prospect of vehicle trading throws up a dilemma thanks to real money transactions - would you want to swap your more expensive car for a cheaper model?
|
Now that GT HD's been canned, it means the game itself will have everything you need...hopefully.

Oh I see what you are talking about now. ^ It would be a couple hundred IF you CHOOSE to purchase EVERY car and track. Also I think they might but not sure yet just trash the Micro transition shit becuase GTHD is coming out for free and I heard something like PD actually listened to their fans for once and got rid of hte micro transitions but I am not 100% sure. Gotta go more details tommorow.

Even if you didn't get every car you wanted, cars you'd probably want are lot more expensive than the others. Especially if player to player transaction was allowed...i can't imagine how horrible price-gouging might be...

still to buy a console for one game is fucking dumb no matter how "great" it could be. person there are a lot of little things that bug me in GT4. so i am going to have to be super impressed to even think about GT5 and a PS3

I can't agree more. I mean, one of the biggest flaw was that GT4 wouldn't let you race so many cars even in the arcade mode. What's the point of getting a Caterham if you can't use it?
Only if GT5 combined GT4's plentifulness of cars + freeroaming concept of Test Drive Unlimited...possibly having multiple towns/cities replicated like London?, Nürburg, Mans, Monaco...and Long Beach?
I dunno. If that is possible, especially with the potential of the Bluray disc, they should definitely do it.

Well for me it wouldn’t be that I am getting a PS3 only to play GT5. GT5 would be the catalyst for me to get the system. By that time hopefully there will be other decent games worth getting either already out or on their way. I was never one to own a bunch of console games anyway.

I can't believe you guys are even mentioning GT5 now... as it won't be another 4 years until it actually gets released
