The true legend isn't the driver, but the car - the Lancia Stratos.

A tear...
Why isn't the US good enough to handle WRC? Why do we have the most ignorant people when it comes to racing (ie NASCAR)? I need my rally, not these tastes of rally they taunt us with on the speed channel.
...sorry i had to vent

That is so true- I'm sick of the rally tease that they give us on SPEED. I want more WRC coverage and less Nascar and High Rev Tuners (The Riceboy Show).

Not sure how anyone can look at rally history and not include Sainz & Vatanen in a list of legends, even if they're not Rohrl or Kankkunen...

As for the NASCAR/WRC thing, all I can say is at least we get a good selection in Australia, although there really isn't enough of anything shown here..

isnt it Vatanen that said that the group B cars were quicker than the drivers.. man they sounded and looked so dam dangerous... anyway, I'd put my money on a evo8 rather than a Lancia.... even if the later had more horses, the weight killed the performance and a lot of power on a fairly heavy chassis is a killer combo

do rally drivers all use the drifting techniques that is so popular nowadays? Makes you think if Keichi Tsuchiya can become a rally champ~

Anyone who knows anything about rally can testify that there is a massive difference between the drifting rally drivers do (if you can call it drifting) compared to track drifting... different cars, different setups, different purpose... Just because you're good at one means nothing for the rest.
