Photoshoots: RX7, BMW 645i, MR2, Scania, Mini, Léon Cupra R
Last sunday I went to a combined photo-/car-meeting from a Dutch board. The photo-opportunities weren't that great, but well, I did my best. Also, as I almost didn't take any action-shots, I finally got a chance to sharpen up my static-skills. 8)
Interestingly, I shot these pics out of the boot of a Alpina B10 3.2 running on autogas. The car in fact is a 6-series with the turbo-engine out of a 745i, from 1981. It's got a 3-speed-autobox and is waiting for the intercooler to be installed. Right now it's got about 260hp.

At the place where we met up at the end, it was quite crowded and boring to take pictures. So I asked some of the owners to park apart for me to have a go. I decided to have a first go at using flashes:

Second car was this MR2 turbo:

One guy took this truck to the meeting, quite an impressive sight next to all the tuned cars:

Also had a go at this Mini Cooper Chili, that I had to ride 90km in to and from the meeting. Quite cramped with my 6'5" in the backseat, but hey, it got me there.

Last up before we left was this Seat Léon Cupra R. As I was shooting, I asked the owner about the power-figures. Turned out it had a GT28RS-turbo and was pushing 350hp and 450Nm. Needless to say I asked for a ride in it, and damn, it's fast!

Great stuff.. I really like how you posistioned the flash in the MR2 shots.. almost as if there was a beam of sun shooting down from a hole through the clouds.

Thanks for the comments guys, I've been using flashes for a while, but this was the first time using them with cars.

Nope, not for the spotlight-effect. Used a Nikon SB25 and a SB26 with radiotriggers for that. Looks like this when in use (+ bonuspic of the Alpina camera-car):

Thanks for posting the "how to" pics of the flashes!
I definitely need to start playing around with flash more often.. I don't like using it because the only flashes I've worked with are the shitty onboard ones.

That's why I bought a camera without flash this time. 8)

That's why I got 4 external flashes. (well, 5 if you count the ST-E2).
