Rolls-Royce Enthusiats' club in Como
So, this was a total surprise. Two WE ago I had to do some shopping in Italy so I went to Como and took mom and sisters with me since they needed some stuff too.
For some long moments I wondered if I should take the camera with me since anyway all the places we had to visit are in the area of town were cars are not allowed. Whatever, as often I decided to take it anyway with me. Lucky me! Arriving in the main square, surprise! 50 or so Rolls lineup up right in front of the first store YAY! I just gave up the shopping, not vital afterall and went on a rampage! Sadly the light conditions were very weird, many shadows and most important, MANY; MANY ppl! In town there were also some other events and it was really a nightmare to shoot them. Also, not knowing the route they would take, when they left I was waiting in the wrong place, so I missed many cars while I was running to the other side of the square trying to catch up. And since in Italy things are often messy, the cars were coming from several directions in a seemely random way the result is a poor amount of pics, most of them with plenty of ppl in them, slighty blurred or just not that interesting angle-wise and such.. but who cares, it was for sure a good moment and I hope you'll enjoy the pics even if I know many ppl are not really into vintage cars.

Good example why you should always have your camera with you!!
As you say not my cup of tea, though the modern ones (Corniche and Azure for example) are just sooo elegant.

It's an old lady and BTW, you can see the weird "mecanic" indicator behind her arm, to the back of the car, funny!
No Phantom?
|
Only a Phantom II in picture and can't really recall if there were any other Phantom.. for sure no Phantom VII around.

Anyway - some pics are nice... and LOL! at the 'italian way of messing things up' - I guess that this could have been a fabulous event if it had been held in Lugano instead

LOL, beware, I don't want to throw shit on italian fellows. I adore Italy, and afterall Lugano and the italian speaking part of Switzerland is much closer to Italy than it is to the rest of Switzerland! And it wasn't THAT bad of course.
For sure they could have picked another WE to display the cars in Como because with all the shows beeing held in the center of the town, it was really overcrowded. I know the day after the cars were in Ascona, north of Lugano more or less, and I wonder if it was better or not. It has to be said that it's just impossible to deal with 50, 60 or more cars in an old town full of ppl.
Also, could have been 100 times worse, with protections around the car messing pics up or something similar you know

Thanks for the pics ... love the Bentley tourer ... Is it a 4.5 litre std or a Speed Six? Definitely not a blower bentley.

For sure not a blower of course, but I am not an expert and beside that, can't be more accurate
