Thanks to him (and many others), F1 cars today is much much safer than it used to be.

RIP. He'll always be remembered as a great racing driver.

oh wow, that last pic is pretty bad to be shown I would say.
Yeah, this is pretty gruesome stuff. Stuff best left to the imagination.

The picture is "shocking" but not gruesome.

It is about the most tasteful way to view the badly "injured" - a picture on the stretcher.

It could be viewed as an accurate portrayal of an historic event.

So what exactly killed Senna? I see a large amount of blood has flowed from his nose and mouth indicating a severe blow to the head (?). Did a piece of shrapnel or something pierce his helmet?

the tire flew off, and hit him in the head, which was the death blow... because of him, now F1 has cords attached to all 4 wheels.... remember the Kimi incodent in Germany last year? that tire was whipping close to his head when the suspension exploded... would've been damn scary too , i think.

honestly, i'm not disturbed by this photo... I try to shy away from most scenes of death; but this is something where people were actively trying to save his life... so its not all bad.

RIP Aryton

Actively trying even though he's already dead in that photo. It's like seeing Superman with a flatline.

Well I can't say nice post, but a well deserved and respectful post!

May sound crazy but if it wasn't for Senna's (and Ratzenbergers) death maybe many more drivers would have found death since many safety improvements and new rules/demands.

Only good thing that came of it really.

Good from you that you posted these pics, makes us not forget about him

I don't think anyone is going to forget about him whether they saw his lifeless bloody face or not.
