Z06 price increase for 2007, new color
The Corvette Z06 received minor upgrades for the 2007 model year along with a fairly substantial price increase. Where the 2006 Z06 could be had for $65,690, the new model will be starting $4,310 higher at $70,000. What do Vette-o-philes get for those extra dollars? A larger glove box for starters. OnStar is also an option now, along with an enhanced acoustics package that's supposed to keep the interior quiet despite the ferocious 505-hp, 7.0-liter LS7 V8 rumbling between the front tires. And you may have noticed the Z06 (and all Corvettes) is available in a new color, Atomic Orange Metallic. Now the Viper-busting Vette looks properly suited to blow an A-bomb sized hole in your wallet.

It's still the best supercar for the money, but got damn GM. The cars are already being inflated by dearlers. The new color is nice though. You can see the pics at the following link:

still a bargain when compared with cars it can compete with in terms of performance, and the new color indeed looks nice (kind of shocking though, i thought americans don't like orange cars)

So for $4300 you get a bigger glove box (which is immaterial in a car like this) and Onstar (which most people cancel after their first few payments because it's quite useless and a money pit) and more sound deadening material (which is also immaterial in a car of this type.
People don't want a Z06 with a large glovebox, Onstar, and a super quiet ride. All this shit is a waste of time and money. There is really no reasonable justification for the price increase other than corperate GREED.
It is still the best supercar for the money, but this just goes to show that Greed always wins in the end.

^ Very true..
I can't help to wonder if there are many people out there who would now buy a Z06 because of these new "luxuries." They might as well soften up the suspension too so it's not as "harsh" on to drive on the street.. But then Clarkson would have nothing negative to say about it

Bah, just rip it all out, I'll buy a $70,000 Lexus if I want a quiet cushy ride.

I guess it is such a success that they can increase the price without problem
