The point of this car is to sell it for a higher price and make a better profit because it's a Limited Edition..

I thought they were going to make a lightweight version (Porsche GT3-esque) of the DB9 and Vantage as well. I remember reading reports on it a while back but no news since then.

Give it time, the RS version of the V8 will come. As for the DB9 I've never heard of plans of a GT3 rivaling versionv but, I quote, "the DBS is a lightweight for an Aston". well AM's have always been heavy so that isn't very informative.

Well the report I read was from months and months ago now, so the DBS could've been the result of the DB9 part of that.
As for Aston's being very heavy, the DB9 and Vanquish are a bit on the chunky side yes (~4,000 lbs), but the Vantage is not too bad really. 3461 lb is all it weighs, which is reasonable for a car that luxurious, along with having a V8.

Not really.
I think Aston are just giving some greater recognition to the achievment at the 24hrs Nurburgring.
Why not publicise the fact that your car, only with minor modifications, is capable of running for 24hrs flat out round one of the most demanding circuits in the world? 8)

It probably will be a collector item of sorts down the road a ways as well.

I suppose that this line(and all the green lines along the car) are there in order to remind of the British origins of the car.

24 hours straight under race conditions on the Nurburgring is probably as close to Dakar as you're going to get on paved roads.
