Actually BMW has its foundations in the airplane industry. The BMW symbol is supposed to represent a propeller going around the blue sky. Just a shame they didn't put wings on that car, it may have worked out better.

^ yeah, they originally were an airplane engine maker, but they turned to motorcycles after WW1 when Germany was sanctioned against making planes. They began making cars in 1928. Technically BMW still makes aircraft engines, but under the Rolls Royce moniker.
interestingly enough, when they were founded in 1911, the name was Gustav Otto Flugmaschinenfabrik Munchen (Gustav Otto Munich Aircraft Works). The name was changed to BMW in 1918.

What you probably didn't know is that just before beeing sanctioned, BMW puts such a good engine in the planes that historians say Germany could have won the war if the planes weren't grounded!

Roll cages are amazing...
I'm wondering if the driver knew that big jump in the grass was coming or not.. Either way, it was one hell of a ride!

It was a new addition, so probably not. For those that don' know, thereis an access road right there and for some reason the track built a big bump there. My guess is they'll now remove it!

I was watching that race a week ago(i think), i missed this crash though, but since the car never really made any impact on the roof i assume the driver was perfectly fine. BTW, those GTO's slaughtered everyone else in that race.
