Here's the full report of our trip to Anneau du Rhin to attend a trackday of Gumpert
back in March, Hamlet and I met the guys from Gumpert at the
Geneva carshow, where we had an interesting chat about this awesome car. The shape of the car may not be the most elegant and coolest, but the performance figures are impressive. Check gumpert.de for more details.
While looking at the Apollo nicely placed at the stand, we came to the conclusion that to make our mind about this supercar, we have to see it live... to hear the noise... to get a feeling of the potential of that car
well, we ended up with a invitation to join the next trackday of Gumpert in April.
That specific day, we started in Zürich, the weather was not that promising...
The Gumpert crew rented the Anneau-du-Rhin racetrack in France
http://www.anneau-du-rhin.com (~45min from the swiss border, damn hard to find, especially with a fully modified Speedster

... new rims, new semi-slicks, new exhaust, spring modifications ongoing, but no GPS system  j/k )
Arriving at the racetrack, we could first hear, then see the white Apollo on the track. this car looked amazing on salegosse's and dani's pictures, but in metal, just insane
After 2 or 3 laps, the car came back to the temporary garage, passing the parking like an arriving jetfighter. Mr Gumpert already new about the 2 carnuts comming from Zürich, he was quite busy with some customers, but we were free to move around the garage, supercool. Thanks again!
The goal of this trackday was to give potential customers the chance to testdrive the car. The white one is the Gumpert testccar, the orange one was sold already. Unfortunately they detected a problem in the transmission, ... after a long discussion, it was clear that no more laps were possible with that car

 noooooooo! . Here, I have to mention that this specific part of the drive shaft was a bought-in-part which obviously wasn't strong enough to transmit the power

This break gave us the possibility to make a indepth photoshooting with the orange car

.
At lunch time it was time to go back for us, because lots of work was waiting for us .... but we couldn't leave without seeing more trackaction ... and the customers were waiting too - finally Mr. Gumpert took the orange car for the further testdrives. Since this car was sold, it wasn't suppose to drive around on the track. As you can see in the video, the drivers didn't push the car, changed gear before the turbos came :bah: but still impressive how this biest comes around the track
leaving the scene, it started raining
Well, enough said, enjoy the pictures !

ready to hit the racetrack :fuck:

Here's a short video compilation I made during 3 or 4 laps, as mentioned before they didn't push that hard :bah:, but some blocking tyres, passing by and engine sound is on tape
GUMPERt APOLLO on TRACK
There is some "More to come" form this trip - some privat cars were driving around the track when the Apollo was in the garage .... and not to forget the Ferrari/Maserati/ModenaCar dealership located at the racetrack.
