I dont know what you're on about but you seem to forget that 5th gear and Top Gear are different shows. Jason Plato is almost certainly a better driver than Tiff, if you want over the top hilarious entertainment thats what Top Gear is for. Also the Z06 hasnt been out in the EU for a long time, Top Gear got it last week (and Im pretty sure Fifth Gear will have it soon).

Seems to have them straight to me. Post makes perfect sense.

Thats the funniest thing I've heard in some time. Tiff has way more experience than Jason and can do things with a car that most can only dream about (including Jason)

I dont see it funny. Tiff may have driven in F1 (1 race, Le Mans 14 times) but that was a while ago. Jason Plato continues to participate and achieve goals in current car racing. Only last year he achieved 3 wins and 11 podiums in the BTCC. Although over his lifetime Tiff has gathered alot more experience and gone alot further, Jason Plato would still be more competitive in the current world and I'd be surprised if Needell could beat him.

^^^^I totally disagree with that. While Tiff may no longer race, he still has years of experience that don't just fade away. He's constantly driving the latest hot rods on the very edge to make reviews about the capabilities of cars. He can hold a perfect drift longer than anyone that I know of and just because Plato drives BTCC, doesn't mean that he's any good at normal cars in the real world. Tiff is.

I would cut of my arm to get that car! But then I had to buy a automatic... and I don't want an automatic. No I just go with the manual one....

I remember Damon Hill quoting he couldn't hold a powerslide quite as Tiff. Some people just master the skill of drifting.

Drifting and good driving are two different things.

Look, here is a simple fact: 5th Gear and Top Gear are TV shows. Sure, I recognize the benefits in having presenters with street cred, as in BTCC wins and such, but if they arnt entertaining then none of that actually matters.............

To succeed they need to be, preferably, both experienced and entertaining. But If I have to choose between the two I will take entertaining every time.

You want proff do you!!? Fine, download Jasons "road trip" review of the latest BMW 3 series (I think its avaialble at racing flix if not in JW) and you will see just how truly horrendous one of his reviews can be. Compare, if you wish, with any one of Jeremy's epic road trips and the difference becomes even sharper.

As much as he annoys me, JC of Top Gear is probably one of the best presenters ever on a car show. His road trips in cars like the Merc SLR, DB9, and even the ugly as sin 612 have all been epic and highly entertaining.

Jasons review, on the other hand, remains to my mind the perfect example of how to kill and otherwise decent car with a boring as all hell review. Like I said, BMW should have paid them to bin that one.................

Tiff can drive but the guy has little entertainment value. Honestly, 5th Gears most entertaining and interesting presenter is Hariy Tom, but he cant drive hehe. So to fix the problem I propose that Hairy Tom does the review and Tiff becomes a sort of 5th Gear Stigg..........and Vicki and Jason can remain employed by cleaning the wheels inbetween cuts

Actually, now that Im on the topic, Top Gear could use some changes too. I think the casting is just perfect. Those three dimwits play off eachother perfectly. Its entertaining. However, its boring as all hell to watch them drive around the same converted airfield with the same Stigg over and over for meaningless low speed lap times.

What the freakin people at Top Gear need to do is switch it up. Take lap times at different track to add variety. Oh and go the the Ring more often The episode where JC tried to lap that pice of crap Jaguar around the Ring was great!!

If Best Motoring and Top Gear were dogs I would mate them. The product, assuming it came out as a perfect balance between the two, would be my ultimate motering show. Best Motoring I like for its more technical reviews, its multiple car racing tests, its more in depth testing in general, etc. Top Gear I like for its high production values, its highyl entertaining presenters, its obviously veryu creative staff, etc......... The single best features of Top Gear have been thier epic car VS. whatever shootouts and thier comedic stunts such as buying porsches for 3 grand or whatever...........

Combine that aspect of Top Gear with some serious racing done by profesional drivers on a variety of circuits and you have......THE BEST CAR SHOW EVER MADE.

Your're missing the point.

I was using drifting as just one example of the skills that Tiff has in a car that was never ment for the race track. He can drive almost any car as one would a race car.

Not exactly.. Drifting is essentially car control.. to the extreme.

Drifting and Road racing are two totally different things.. but as common sense tells us, Car control is what it all comes down to in any form of car racing...

Road racers are generally good drifters, but Drifters can usually hold their own on the race track as well..

Plato wishes he had the skills Tiff had.. bottom line, they are from two totally different eras in motorsport.. Motorsport was WAYYY different from back when Tiff used to race.. Now its all about money and politics, etc..

well I got most of mine using bit torrent......................other then that I would go Amazon. Most of the DVD's sell for only $8.99 anyway if you use amazon.com...

Oh and speaking of Jason, I just watched the latest 5th gear "girls allowed" video and he was pretty entertaining in that one........all the hot Irish girls helped though.......Didnt know Ireland could produce girls that hot. England sure has trouble........then again, makeup, tanning, teeth whitening and a little American education in the latest grooming practices (such as bathing daily, using deoderant, and brushing ones teeth after meals) can do wonders for the Euro chicks

Not true. If you recall Formula Nippon Champ from one of the BM episodes can't drift a RX-8 thru a corner. Correcting oversteer (regain control of a car) is one thing, drifting entirely thru a corner is another.
