Badass Jet-truck, seen at airshow I went to this weekend:
When it was on the runway, it hit 356mph!

This is the Air Force's Jet Car...according to the announcer, it has more horsepower than all of the starting line-up of the Indy 500 :shock:, it burns 35 gallons of jet fuel in every show, and it does 0-400mph in 8 seconds!

Also, any tips on taking good pictures with really harsh mid-day sun and no clouds?

It's badass, they somehow hooked it up so fire comes out of the pipes too! You can kind of see in this picture>

Yeah I saw it ages ago too on tv but its still cool every time it comes up.

I saw that jet truck live at an airshow when I was a kid. Good times

it raced a bi-plane and won by a mile( I know, I was shocked too).

its loud too, especially when you're eight.

can't believe that thing still runs. come to think of it... I still have a model of that thing that I built in my living room. cool!

As for tips, usually If I don't know which settings to use I'll set it to P (program mode) which usually takes a pretty decent shot. And from there I'll look at what speed, apature, etc that pic was shot at and then go into Manual mode to play around..

Dude.. I know exactly what youre feeling.. ESPECIALLY because everyone here on JW with a Nikon are getting trick new lenses while I'm still stuck with the 18-55mm..

Even though I bought this setup so I wouldnt HAVE to buy another lens, I still want a new lens!!

Which lenses do you have in mind?
