Default A few sightings... [Updated SLR/550]

Here are a few of the cars i saw this weekend at Oulton Park race circuit (UK).

I didn't take many pictures, but here are the ones that turned out. My camera wasn't really up to taking pics on an overcast, but bright, day, or indeed, any of the track action :bah: We'll see how my finances go...

A perfect 550M in gorgeous TDF - definitely a rare beast in these parts - reflections were too much for my ixus to handle

An Exige - tiny!

Just a "regular" Carrera S, but with a Porsche (?) factory fit body kit

One of the new 430 GTs racing in the British GT championship. There were two, but one was being rebuilt in a very secluded/sealed off garage. The pic doesn't really show it, but the car is Rosso Scuderia - and looks great 8) - it also won the race i saw, beating a Panoz after the driver change.

Finally, an SLR belonging to one of the GT car team owners - its the same car that was in last years Gumball 3000 (it had orange vinyl decals on it then). Looked hot, but for the money there are better cars

Here are the rest of the photos - i tried my best to edit them

My first go at snapping the 430 - blame the digicam shutter lag

Gotcha!

An older 996 racer

A 360

Finally one of the nicest cars competing in a classics race - a GT350 Mustang

[EDIT - Hi Res]

[EDIT - 430]

Here was a classic coloured 430 - it had the ceramic brakes too - this guy means business 8)

The black SLR looks sensational just the thing you need for the Gumball 3000 626BHP without sacrificing comfort that much.

now your getting it GT350  you may need to play around with the settings to help out with the blurring and size of the car within the shots. but good subject matter. also i like that section of track with the gt350 in it. a nice downhill corner exit. :good:

I just had the cam on auto, fully zoomed in and i tried to pan with the camera (though i wasn't really wanting to take many photos - i wanted to savour all the action)

Indeed, that corner was a tricky one - the entry is slightly uphill, then mid corner it slopes down - a few of the Formula Fords had trouble trying to brake nicely for that corner, and a lot of the RWD cars had trouble with traction coming out of the corner.

Nice stuff, trackdays/races are always a great chance to spot some beauties in the carpark!

I love the 997 S, any chance of getting those two in high-res (i.e 1280 or above)?

Both 997 pics added to bottom of first post in 1600x1200.

I didn't crop them so you have the full pic now
