Default My dad's Audi proves too hot to handle!!!!

Well - looks like the Audis just get hotter as they get older... 180,000km and his car is still on fire..

He smeeled acrid odour from the center dash and pulled over to try see what was the matter - smoke starting entering the cabin, so he grabbed his cell phone and brief case and got out - within minutes the old understeerer was an inferno.

What model was it? Was that an old Audi 100/200 model? What are the odds of that. Understeer was cleared of all wrong-doing, right?

Even if Brembo is wrong most of the times this is something that can happen to all cars. My dad helped a woman whose brand spanking new japanese car (don't know what brand) went up in flames a couple of years ago.

BTW "brand" in swedish means fire

Dang, the Audi got owned badly! Luckily nobody got hurt, but quite scary! Do you know how many min/hours from when he left the car to the last fire pic? ( http://img127.imageshack.us/my.php?image=146jg.jpg )

Wow, that is bizarre. Any word on what exactly set it on fire?

Good he's ok, now he can look out for something that oversteers..

Maybe this incident will get him off VW for good

His car ownership since 1985 reads like a VW/Audi sales brochure.

Passat GLi Wagon and sedan, VW Jetti GLi, VW Golf GTi, Audi 100's, Audi 200's, Audi 500's, VW Citi Golf etc - and he always had at least 3 cars - his hers and theirs

The one plus is that they all lasted into the hundreds and hundreds of thousands of kilometers.

The Golf and Jetta actually out lasted all the other cars and became the 3rd and 4th cars for my younger borther and sister too gorw up with.

I am guessing he will shock everyone and buy something outrageous - like an Audi as a replacement ')
