I get about 300k/sec on downloads for my $19 a month.

I used to get 150k/sec when I first came here (2003) for $29 a month

Same provider last 3 years, at some stage the speed doubled.

Only ever had 56k in the UK, downloaded a couple of CDs worth of MP3 at 5-6k/sec (used to leave PC on all the time).

Any Canadians on rogers you have to reset your modem so it can download the new firmware. Aprently express is bumped up to extreme and Extreme users over the next few months will be bumped up to 8mbps or something like that.

hmm.. i think in estonia we have the smallest salaries compared to the countries where the previous posts were made. and we still pay for lots of services much more than you. 230 kb/sek d/l and 25 kb/sec upload i get for about 40 EURO per month. ok, my ISP is not the cheapest one, but not by far the most expencive either. Cheapest one on same speeds would be about 25 EURO. and theres ISP which offers same shit for 55 eur.

Interesting my line doubled speed lately too but I got a letter informing me about this some weeks ago. I can finally touch some 480 KB/s when the server is fine (and almost 50 in upload). But well, I pay around 50 bucks a month

Same here. Internet is very expensivre in central Europe. I pay the equivalent of 45eauros for a 2Mbit/256kbit line. Traffice is limited to 35GB per month, if I pass that point my speed will slow down to 32kbit/s, luckily that has never happened so far.

My internet connection speed at home is 512kbps (3 gb limited) and d/l speed is 64KBps and it is about €17. 2mbps internet and 256KBps d/l speed (unlimited) connection is €170 in Turkey. But at school I have broadband connection (I am not sure its exact speed) my D/l speed record is 1.3 Megabyte per second and my average d/l speed is abput 300-400 Kilobyte per second If I am not wrong in japan 10Mbps speed internet costs €43.
