Alfa Romeo 8C Competizione to enter production?!?!?!??!
New Models: Alfa 8C Competizione will be built
Remember the Alfa Romeo 8C Competizione concept car? The V8-powered, carbonfibre-bodied, front-engined supercar everyone said Alfa should build? Now, over two years since the concept was revealed at the 2003 Frankfurt show, it really could happen writes John Simister.
'It is my dream to do it,' said Alfa's recently-arrived CEO, Antonio Baravalle. 'We have cut the budget for our advertising campaign and will do the 8C instead, because it is a perfect way to promote the Alfa brand. Sergio Marchionne [president of Fiat Auto] says if the figures add up, do it.'
The plan is to have a production-standard 8C ready for the Paris show at the end of September, and to take orders for a 500-car production run then. It will be a coupé, like the concept car, but another of Baravalle's 'dreams' is to make a Spider version later.

Good news!!!
This car is just stunning!!! Even if it won't be a sports car as good as other ones, it will be an excellent way to promote Alfa Romeo 8)
I hope the production model won't be much different from this concept!!
Can't wait!!

That would be fantastic and indeed a nice way to promote the brand, much better than ad IMO ...

If ALFA Romeo plans a strong return to the States , I`am sure that the 8c will be a very powerfull tool to promote the brand

I was really excited when I read this today. It would be amazing if they'd build it! I already loved the car when I first saw it in pictures, but when I saw it in real life I couldn't believe just how perfect it is....

Auto Bild has written a while back that the car is not gonna be build... There news are known to be correct most of the time... I would really appreciate though if they really build this dream
