Interesting comparison, wouldn't have thought about all the similarities - but they are definately there as pointed out in the article.

Thanks TT!

And the mystique of the 911 is destroyed by Porsche themselves.

If it's cheaper, easeir to drive and "newer in desing" to the 911 - then it may end up selling more, which will lead to the dropping of the 911 from the line up

If the Gayman catches on in the USA, then the 911 is doomed

The one redeeming quality of Porsche as a manufacturer was that they danced to their own tune - and the 911 could have been changed at any time in the past - but it wasn't - it is the 911 simply because it can be.

I for the record do not like this car 1 iota.

Y'all better hope Porsche doesn't start racing these things..... Cayman GT3 RS... what a boring lump that will tunr out to be ...

Don't thing it happens with the Cayman - ok, some posers will take it over the 911 'cause it's cheaper... but the real Porsche enthusiast (and this brand is based on them IMO) will stick to the 911... always
You can bet that when I have the money, I'll surely buy a 911, not a Cayman.

Sweet article, having seen both cars [Cayman S and 997] in person, I can say the 997 looks a lot better, but I sure wouldn't mind having a Cayman! 8)

Thanks TT, excellent quality scans.
