Buggati Veyron - first impressions
Not mine, but the mag owner, my boss is buying one and he had the chance to go to Sicily on the 14th this month to test drive the car. Only a hand full of people were invited. Along side him, there were 2 german journalists, 1 american, 2 french and 3 italian, I think, something like that.
He was able to drive the car from the Hotel to the racetrack, where the Bugatti test drivers were the only ones allowed behind the wheel.
The car feels absolutley perfect. It's as easy to drive on the road as an Audi A4 but on the track it can be a handfull. The acceleration is just silly and the cornering speeds were VERY impressive. The sound at full revs gives the word loud new meaning.
Basically nothing new, but it's different hearing these words coming out of somebody you know.
When I get more info about the car tomorrow, I'll let you know.

easy to drive? What a "supercar"
Boy I hate that car. So ugly, and an AUTOMATIC-Car-Driver can drive it as fast as a pro MT on a straight line.

awesome car, but id still take an Enzo/CGT or almost any other super car. This is too big and jus i dunno it might have crazy power but it jus doesnt have that appeal like a Ferrari or many other super cars. (The old EB110 dod though). Also as far as I know tha car is pretty much an Audi/VW whereas with the Lambos at least they got some real Lambo guys still workin, I think with Bugatti its just the name and all the guys are just audi/VW guys, which definitely takes away lots fro the car, for me atleast. I could be wrong though. Imagine if Ferrari used a huge 16 cylinder engine with 4 turbos lol. Thats another thing about the car I hate turbos, I love NA its so much cooler to me much more appealing and satisfying.

Obviously business is going well in Slovenia (and the rest of old east bloc and beyond) then...
It's probably just a pity the per capita income isn't keeping pace with the few uber-super-duper-wealthy fols..

so it may be a slight pipedream, and the car may not be anywhere near as drivable everyday... (remove the steering wheel to get in/out) but it had A/C, and sound deadening... nobody knows how many were built, but Jochem Dauer said he could build about 50...
this car was the logical evolution of the F40
back on topic, Komotar, thats amazing that your boss is buying one! hopefully he'll let you drive it anyway, im sure we'll see some of the pictures shortly after delivery!

Thats awesome news Komotar. Its always sweet to hear about a car from its owner (or future owner), even if its biased.
I for one am a fan of the Veyron, so I can't wait to see any photos you might get

Well, being one of the first countries that had a "new" start in 91, we're doing extreemly fine. Regarding the circumstances.
The number of the uber-super-duper-wealthy fools is getting bigger by the hour....and I wouldn't mind being one of them.
Here, everybody has a chance to make something of them selves, unlike on some other countries like Serbia and Montenegro, where people are still poor like shit.
Our anual incom is rising and we're on a good way. By far the best results comparing to the rest of the ex-Yugoslavia. And also much better than a lot of the East European countries....
My boss for instance, doesn't come from a rich family at all. He started racing with NO money 20, 25 or so years ago. Good results in Yugoslavia ( national champ ) and racing in Leman's ( 3rd in the GT class in 93, I think) helped him to get noticed in the business world, helped him to know people.......
Quick thinking bought him cars like the Diablo, 550, GT2, CGT, F430...
I hope the Veyron deal goes trough, still don't know about the delivery date....

That's some thrilling news. Keep us up to date. I may not really like the car as much as I do with other supercars, it still is an impressive car
