Default Nurburgring - Saterday 17th Sept. 2005 Hot Stuff

Went to the Nordschleife on Saterday the 17th September. Those Touristenfahrten are always nice to see although I'm big VLN-fan. There is rally called the Cannonball8000 (www.cannonball8000.com), it's somewhat the same as the Gumball rally, the whole pack visited the Nordschleife and lapped it a few times. The moment I saw them driving up to the "start and finish" point at the cafe called the Grünne Holle I knew it was time to settle myself somewhere around the track. The track opened at 13.30 a.m. The weather was quite nice, lots of sunny periods, this brings lots of nice cars on the track 8).
The first six pictures are of a "pisten club" which are made in morning, I geuss they hire the circuit for a few hours so that they don't have to deal with lots of traffic.

Enjoy the pics

Hope you enjoyed them

Cheers

Some stunning pictures....thanks alot!

Why do you post them so small though? To appreciate them fully we need 1600x1200 or similar pictures - do you have them in this size?

Thanks for that.

If you resize the images and get them under 1MB each you can host them on www.imageshack.us - and post the thumbnails here.

Alternatively you can send them all to me and I'll host them for you - I have 300GB of space and 7.5GB transfers to utilise.

The picture quality is stunning, the cars very nice only thing missing is bigger res as dingo already stressed
BTW dingo, I doubt you really have 300 GB of space and 7.5 transfer would be kinda difficult to deal with it

BTW, never post high-res directly with img tags, either you have a thimb, either you post the link only, as stated in the rules.

Sorry for that, my bad. Didn't know that. Good you let know.

Stay tuned, next week (24th september) I will go to the VLN again ... woehoe

To be honest I expected more of some of the pictures. I made one major mistake, I used a monopod for some time during that shoot yesterday and it looks like it isn't any good using one in combination with a VR-system (lens with Vibration Reduction system) when you are taking panning shots. They look fine on the lcd-screen but unfortionately these screens are quite unreliable when it comes to checking exposure and sharpness of your pictures. Lots of pictures turned out a bit fuzzy, can't stand that and I hate it using the sharpning tool in PS. So, you will do alot better with taking panning shots handheld than using a monopod :bah: I will make it up next time 8)

Cheers

Fantasic pictures.

If you are goign back, I would like to ask a favour.

Do you mind taking some pictures of the popular turns and spots - but with no cars present.

We can always use really nice hi-res pictures of the track a backgrounds for Photoshop contests and the like.

Maybe even some pictures of empty parking spots at the gate house..

Any way, back to the lovely pictures.

That would be a Mosler MT900, not a Saleen.

These transcontinental rallies are becoming more and more popular, hopefully I'll be able to shoot pics of good cars if they aever decide to take a route through Poland. Great pics, thx.
