I am trying a new video resolution with improved quality tonight in the hope of sorting out the squished screen problems some of you have been having...

Your feedback would be appreciated.

thats why the video is so fucking big ? ??? 79 mb for a review of 1 car ... a lot !!!!

So its better quality or just changed the aspect ratios ?

Its both... the bit rate is up and the resolution is now 384 x 288.

Other resolutions I am testing are

352 x 288 and 375 x 288 its just a case of finding one that everyone is going to be happy with.

I don't think 80 MB is that big for a 9 minute special feature and of course no one is forcing you to download it.

Downloading now, thanks Jabba.

Heard today's top gear features 3 lambos and a few tuned Mini Cooper S, can't wait for it to show up on the TV here 0X

Aspect ratio in WMP9 is definitely wrong. Car looks way too tall.
Just me?

All were 360 x 288 which was easier and quicker for me but was a bit non-standard for people that couldn't adjust the resolution.

320x240 is supposed to be the perfect resolution for WMV. Since you're using 288 as vertical resolution, horizontal resolution should be 288 * (320 / 240) = 384. So 384x288 should be perfect...

But things seems to look a bit strectched vertically. Did you crop the letterbox (black bars? As least on bbc world, they show the video with letterbox. If I remember right, it's 16 pixels top and bottom (for 352x240). Try to encode the video at 320x208 and it should look perfect 0X

Very good lambo review. Great drive by the stig too!
